Trying to change my name but ID is taken???

Yeh, I'm having the same problem with trying to change my name to BuckRabbit. It says it's taken despite the search showing it isn't ???

I've Been Also Experiencing The Same Problem, Before I Had My Name As Expirio, Then I Changed It To Expirio2D. Now I Can't Change It Back Because It Says Someone Already Took It, But When I Search Expirio On Friends And There Was No Person With The Same Name!

@EA_Darko [Removed by CM] because I tried about 100 variations of my name with different characters and numbers but they were all taken but they are all taken ONLY on EA and not on any other games or accounts from companies bigger than EA

If a username is not being accepted then you will need to try another one till you find a name that is accepted.

Hey @EA_Darko , I have a question. If my xbox gamertag was also registered to Origin before I linked it to this Origin account, am I not able to change my Origin ID to match that of the Xbox gamertag because it technically already exists? In other words, if I'm getting the "ID already taken" error when trying to change my name, is that because the name already taken is my xbox gamertag? Does that make sense?

Having the same issue but with a previous Playstation Gamertag, would like to have my Playstation Gamertag as my EA/Origin ID

I too am having this issue. Nothing in this world pisses me off more than someone stealing MY original gamer ID. like it's SOOOO hard to be even a little creative. Thus I had to stick a 666 at the end and now all of my friends are having difficulty finding me. 2 people on steam have already tried, and failed to take my name

Hey @Demon_Ratchet666 another user claiming a name that was not associated with an EA account is not stealing anything.

If you had not claimed the name then I'm sorry to say but there is nothing that we can do to change this.

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. My name is Brumble, it's Brumble on literally everything.
Youtube, Discord, Twitch, Steam you name it.. but it's not available on EA.

I did a search for the user called Brumble and there isn't any users across the whole of Origin but it won't let me use that name?

I'm aware im necro'ing a post but this is a common issue.
Why doesn't origin just do what Discord, Battle.net and various other platforms do and just user denominators? Like Brumble#0000 
It would make alot more sense and keep your gamers happy...

This is exactly why Steam will always dominate the PC Gaming platform.
