I'm guessing that this is the original PVZ arcade game because as far as i'm aware Garden Warfare 1 isn't yet available through backwards compatibility. Also, if you downloaded it through EA access as a free game within it's subscription then I can confirm that it does work without a problem.

Not so sure about the profile thing but what I do know is that from my experience of backwards compatibility it's not possible to retrieve any stored data from games you previously owned (and have since received for free as part of the backwards compatibility program) due to the fact that Xbox 360 data was saved directly onto the console and not cloud stored as the Xbox One is. Normally a game informs you of this point (when it first loads) but lets you play regardless.
