I think you would need VPN to do so.  

I downloaded mine while I was in Shanghai way back in 2017 but to be honest, the Chinese version is different to the international version and to me it seems to be even more inclined on paid to win.

The only probable way to do that is change your App Store location to China. Sign in to your Apple ID and then download the PvZC on it, then change location to your current location and enjoy your app!

I contacted EA about how I could access the Chinese version of PvZ2 and was directed to this forum to make a comment indicating interest. I was told that developers sometimes take their cues from comments on this forum, so I am putting it out here just in case that is true. Whether it is the full Chinese version itself or just the elements that are different folded into the PvZ2 edition I can access in the United States, I would love to be able play. Thank you.
