omg you are a life saver! i was at a loss bc i couldn't figure out why origin wouldn't re-install after deleting the files off of my new laptop. i made the mistake of trying to transfer my game to an external, but it didn't work and moving it with origin only moved partial core files, and basically i had to start new. i had deleted those two files by accident, and now that i've downloaded them, then installed them both my origin opens again. you deserve a hug and many cookies for saving my sanity. thank you so much for helping us❤️

the only similar files I find are Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable, not 2015. Am I supposed to do any different?

@Gustav13  Just install the 2015-2019 runtimes, both x86 and x64, and then try to install Origin again.  You can get the files here:

I'm not supposed to uninstall the 2010 runtimes?

@Gustav13  No, you're not, or at least you don't need to.  But if you did anyway, you can download new ones from here:

2010 x86:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328

2010 x64:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523

The 2010 runtimes are independent of those from any other years, as are all the others from before 2015.  Different programs use whatever versions they were built for and won't be able to access a different version at all.

For some reason these download links doesn't work, the site says 

"We're sorry, this download is no longer available."

Uninstalling the 2008 and 2010 Microsoft C++ and then installing the 2015 version from that link you shared worked for me! I never would have figured that out on my own. Thanks very much!
