Sports Zombie Deck Build (With explanations) (Lower level build)

NOTE: This build is for lower levels (about 5-15ish)

I will split this into two groups, necessary cards, then optional cards. All cards will have an explanation for their use. Tell me what you think of the build! 🙂

This deck is extremely consistent. I'd say about 85-90% consistent or even more which is EXTREMELY good in a game like this.

Legend:

- = Uncommon

* = Rare

! = Super Rare

Hero:

The Smash His abilities are incredibly useful for this deck. Slammin' Smackdown for a little early/mid-game control, Heroic Health for getting out of sticky situations, Possessed for mid/late-game attacks and good for defense; very Versatile. Finally Galvanize for buffing. A NECESSARY ability for this deck.

Necessary Cards:

- x2 Arm Wrestler Good for opening

x3 Baseball Zombie For if you don't have any sports cards in your main draw. Can be used later with a Team Mascot to reach high ATK/HP

x4 Camel Crossing Good for openings if you don't want to lose a Team Mascot, Arm Wrestler, or one of my personal favorites, the Sumo Wrestler

x2 Rolling Stone Helps against low level spam decks

x3 Conehead Lower level meat shield. Comes in handy in multiple occasions

x4 Sumo Wrestler A necessary card. Great for opening, mid game, and late game. One of this deck's most versatile cards in my opinion

x3 Dolphin Rider For getting rid of Amphibious plants and can be used a land meat shield

x2 Loudmouth Great for making a unstoppable Team Mascot or other zombie. Use only as defense unless you need the ATK to win

x4 Team Mascot Literally the engine for this deck. Without him this deck would be useless. If you have only one in your hand, make sure to weigh the risks of bringing him out. You usually want either at least one team mascot in your starting hand, but do not replace any Arm Wrestlers or Sumo Wrestlers if you have them in your starting hand unless you have two of any kind. Always make sure to have at least one Sports zombie in your starting hand

- x1 Vitamin Z Just in case you don't have a Loudmouth or want to quite literally trick or surprise your opponent. Extremely useful early and mid game with some versatility late game

- x1 Buckethead Mid/late game meat shield

x4 Locust Swarm Has saved me more times than I can count. Extremely reliable mid/late game card that can destroy an opponent's strategy

! x1 Maniacal Laugh May possibly want two, I don't have enough to craft another, sadly. This is an amazing late game card to win you the game as you break through opponents' defenses. If you can't get your hands on one, I'd recommend a replacement of one or two Vitamin Z's

This should leave you with about 6 optional cards.

Optional Cards:

- x1 Haunting Zombie Great to use as a meat shield against a high ATK plant. Cheap and extremely versatile

- x1 Landscaper Great for going against buff decks

- x1 Trash Can Zombie Great as a surprise meat shield that can stop an opponent's attack and let you set up for a two-turn strategy

* x1 Weed Spray Useful against low level spam decks

- x1 Kangaroo Rider Great to stop a mid-game plant attack

- x1 Ra Zombie Great late game or possibly mid game (with enough setup). Allows you to cripple your opponent's response as you set up a large attack, forcing them to waste cards

An essential card for this deck would be the coach zombie. He's only a rare so he should be fairly easy for entry level players to craft.

Yeah this is before I really explored the cards in the game. Thanks for the response though! I'm going to post a trick deck with Professor Brainstorm that I call Professor Trickstorm so keep an eye out for that soon! (Most likely in the next few days)

While Professor brainstorm has a good trick deck, Immorticia is better. Her beastly typing contributed a ton more than crazy.

I prefer Brainstorm because of his Eureka. Once you see the deck build, you may understand why I chose him.
  • Great deck for zombie players to get started! I hope to see some higher level builds from you soon! 🙂

Baseball zombie is a noob card, period, and should be replaced ASAP.  It doesn't matter that it is a sports card, because the stats are so bad it will easily be dealt with before it can grow into anything.  Basically, any 1/1 card is a noob card because playing them on turn one is horribly counter productive.  You want to get hit by 1 damage - it is affirmatively helpful - and baseball zombie is so harmless can just let him wail on you for a while.

The problem with this deck is that it is built based on what random low level person happens to have, with no discussion of what to replace.  For example, 4x Arm Wrestlers if you have them is obvious and not debatable.  That is an uncommon, the OP likely only has 2, that is fine, but to just say 2 and not note that you want 4 is not helpful.
