I'm new to this but I totally agree with a skate 4, allow me to share my thoughts on ideas of a possible skate 4 from a skater's perspective;
1. Character Customization
Alright, one of the main reasons we love career mode is being able to make your own skater. Skaters like to make skaters that actually look like skaters, none of this fancy retarded extras. Was the soda hat really necessary?
Personally, I think skate 2's merch selection was amazing. They had most brands (missing out a few, e.g.. HUF, Diamond) and the clothing was varied. Although Skate 3 had a vast selection of clothing and shoes, they just weren't all that pleasing and left quite a bit to be desired.
One of my main problems in this case was the trousers...I'm not quite sure but the fit just...urked me. Most of the pants were either an ugly straight leg or completely skinny, and on top of that, didn't even reach the ankles. What Skate 4 could do to improve this would be to introduce different fits (slim, baggy, skinny, straight leg, etc) and actually categorize them.
I also missed how you would need money like in the first 2 games. That was all the realism in it, you get sponsors, get buck, get product. I really was not into the entire building your company thing and how you were just given everything. The bag concept in skate 1 was really good; go to regs or whatever skate store to get your product and then it's in your bag. Incorporating sponsors and skate stores is a must for a skate 4.
The shoes were decent although I wasn't fond on most of the colourways. For skate 4, EA could introduce maybe 2 or 3 colourways for some shoes and maybe even different shoelaces. Another realistic thing that would definitely enhance the reality and overall gameplay would be to introduce the idea of ripping shoes and wearing them out. As a skater, keeping our skate shoes in check is forreal a huge deal. Once you get a shoe sponsor, you get free shoes, fair enough, but there should be a bar (maybe in the menu) to show how your shoes are faring. That would make it more realistic and a lot more fun. Also, just to make it even more interesting, the state of the shoe could perhaps hinder how you perform your tricks. That would make the player more thoughtful as to whether they should go out and get new shoes or just skate with the ones they have at the moment. This could be a similar case with boards (you should also get griptape sponsors and different grip like jessup, mob, diamond/grizzly, shake junt).
Boards should, much like the shoes, have a durability bar as to how close your board is to snapping or wearing out. This, could also hinder performance when filming, doing contests, etc, therefore, like I earlier stated make players more cautious. Players should also be able to put stickers on your board. These requests may seem petty, but when setting up a board, a skater will put so many stickers on it that they can't see the graphic anymore.
Another thing which I missed from skate 1 was belts, it just seemed more realistic to be able to fully customise your person. As well as this, add SHOELACE BELTS, this has become one of the largest trends in skateboarding that, to leave it out of skate 4, would be tear-jerking.
Now for body mods; I don't like buying DLC just to get new hairstyles, I Do Not Like That. Save DLC for extra career challenges, maybe add more tshirts but do NOT make me buy your DLC for a hairstlye. It's my skater, therefore I should be able to make it look EXACTLY how I want to...pretty please. Another feature I miss from skate 1 was the way you could fully customize the persons body (like making it skinny muscular, fat muscular, scrawny).
Another feature whcich I am introducing is the "Let me choose how tall my skater is" . That would be, along with all the other stuff I've mentioned, the pinnacle of character customization. Making your picture in your head exactly what you thought. That's enough with harcater customization now.
2.Gameplay/Career
EA...please explain to me how becoming sponsored didn't become cool? Did being put on our favourite skate brands just become "uncool"? Let me tell you what skaters want, they want sponsorships, shoe deals, pro shoes, pro decks (actual names on the board of your favourite brand, none of that skate 3 bull, making me go on skate.create to make my stuff...damn), pro trucks, CLOTHING SPONSORS, and other endorsments (don't forget the energy drinks). I personally think that this was skate 3's downfall. You basically took what skaters LOVED about the skate franchise, and threw it down a well, never to be seen again only to be replaced by...YAY LET'S MAKE OUR BOARD COMPANY...no. Although this is not a bad concept, how it was used was...mediocre. In skate 4, include all the sponsors and stuff, but maybe AFTER you're a fully fledged pro and you've gotten footy and completed challenges, the option to go on to start a board company should be there. That would be the perfect way to incorporate that idea. Maybe then you could recruit teams and stuff. But, for board designs, an ingame skate.create sort of thing would be perfect. Then we can choose to upload our ideas from there.
Now all you have to do is just incorporate the skate 2 story, add loads more contests( street league, xgames is also greatly missed, tampa am, tampa pro, due tour ), more videos, like, all your sponsors should ask for at leat 1 or 2 videos to promote their brand. Like, board sponsors could get you to film a certain amount of lines and tricks for a proper video part. This would make it really realistic. Also, make physics more like skate 2. More gravity if that makes sense, how the hell do you start the game and you can already ollie a bench, flat. You should be like given attributes which could help you, like pop, rotation, flick, etc.
There also needs to be more magazine coverage like interviews and how you answer each question affects how much your sponsors pay you for that interview or even how much board sales.
3.Pros
Now we all know the skate series is never short of pros, but how the heck do you skip out on some of the greatest rippers to date? PRod, Ryan Sheckler, Nyjah Huston, Sean Malto. How the heck do you have barrier kult guy who just shreds barriers and not have PAUL FRICKEN RODRIGUEZ. He was in skate 1...okay but how do you skip one of the G.O.A.T's for 2 entire games later? I also would've liked to see pros like corey duffel, torey pudwill, theotis beasley, jim greco, erik ellington, kevin romar, mark suciu, even stefan janoski. These pros would've been great. Pro chalenges were pleasing in skate 3 so not much to say about that.
These were just idead that I' love, want, hope, and dream are incorporated into skate 4 if they make one, PLEASE EA make a skate 4
(reply and tell me your ideas)
