Re: no sound effects during multiplayer

I have a similar problem. I have no sound whatsoever. No music or sound effects, or any other sounds. I've only managed to fix this ONCE by repairing the game (after extensive troubleshooting of reinstallating both the game and origin a few times, repairing the game a few times etc.). I've spend literally HOURS talking to EA Customer Service and they keep telling me to do the same thing over and over. They won't let me talk to their supervisors either. As a college student, I've been saving up for this game for a while, and spending $70 on a game that won't even work properly makes me incredibly upset.

@Kantwuffel @Morris9749Can you try the following steps?

Go to Control Panel > Sound.

Select your device and choose Properties. Check the enhancements tab and disable any enhancements that are active.

Then go to the Advanced tab and set the quality to "16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)"

Hit Apply then launch the game and please check again.

I'm guessing you did not read my post cause I said this is happening for Xbox one....that might work for pc
  • I've already tried that and doesn't work. It's a problem with the game. Every single game I own works perfectly except for Battlefront (Battlefront BETA worked great as well). Also, as it turns out, other players are having the same problem. So I'm waiting on an email regarding a fix.

  • As it turns out, it's not PC only. Consoles have the same issues. But what can you expect... They should be fixing it soon (hopefully).

Mine started working after I found my headset turned up too loud so it was maybe overpowering my speakers
  • Hello.

My problema is just some kind of crackling on some maps. Problem is that my usb headset doesn't allow me to change the option from 48 to 44.1 is there any other way of doing it?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem. PC No Sound FX, Tried Multiple "Fixes"
I'll report it anyway. I very rarely have any sound at all in matches. Occasionally I have music. but that's it. no lazer blasts, no footsteps, no breathing/ running sounds. I hear a ship once in a while.
Main Menu works fine and has sounds

My specs are the following if it helps:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K processor (No Overclocking)

Motherboard: Asus Gryphon Z97 Bios updated

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 ( run the game up to Med without a problem and beta ran fine with this GPU) (Intel(R) Graphics Accelerator Driver Beta 15.40.12.4326 for Windows 10 64bit)

Sound Card Onboard: Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio (Driver V6.0.1.7661 for Windows 10 64bit)

Hard Disk: 2TB WD Black x2

    RAM: Gskill DDR3 4x4 (16GB) 1600Mhz Sniper (PC3 12800)

    O.S.: Windows 10 Pro - 64bit

    "Drivers are updated "

Had no sound error while playing the beta, just wanted to point it out

    "Possible fix"

Go to Control Panel > Sound.
Select your device and choose Properties. Check the enhancements tab and disable any enhancements that are active.
Then go to the Advanced tab and set the quality to "16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)"

I do this and the sound effects problem continues on during multiplayer game

And no word from Dice or EA about them fixing it

    I've had this issue many a time with battlefield 3 & 4.

The game was thrashing my hard drive and taking forever to load the audio files which I discovered using microsoft process monitor.

After installing the game on an SSD, whenever this has happened, it has only been for the first 3 to 4 seconds of a match.

I suppose this too could happen on a modern day console as I believe they also now have to install the game onto a hard drive.

I'm unfamiliar with what partition format or file structure consoles use, or if their disks are vulnerable to fragmentation so I can't speak for them.

A quick google reveals it is possible to "defrag" on a PS4 using the "rebuild database" option when in safe mode.

    https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/Safe-Mode-PS4/

Then again this reddit thread explains it differently: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/2bkfm7/what_does_the_function_of_rebuild_database_do_is/

Anyone with this issue on PS4 want to try that as a fix and let us know?
