Re: [Discussion] What does PvZ GW2 anti-cheat mean for my mods?

@HomeSlice9667 It will be a forced update for the game. At some point, you will have to be online and allow it to update. You cannot change the update to not install.

@EA_Shepard Will the update get pushed through the EA App or some other way? Just wondering how exactly will we get the update when it comes out.

@JosephPopper1 the update will be pushed for the game itself, so it will be based on the platform you play on. So Steam and the EA app are the main ones so when the update goes live, each platform has to approve the update first before any update for any game out there can be added. Once the update is live on that platform, you will see an update is needed message.

@EA_Shepard Will this update come out on the PlayStation and Xbox versions of GW2 as well? Don’t see why would those need the anti-cheat but I suppose some internal changes may make an update needed there too?

I'm considering getting Garden Warfare 2 for the PC version although I'll probably wait until the Anticheat update releases to decide.

@HomeSlice9667 Unless the mods are harmful or get triggered by the system like in any other game, there isn't a reason why it would ban you. Simply having a mod in a game doesn't get you banned. Exploiting the game does.

@OmegaTurtle443 We do not have the ability to allow any players do this. Modding in itself is something we simply do not support and therefore, if any game is modded, the player mods it at their own risk. Community Managers and forums have no visibility into this in any way.

    Cheers!
