Game Bugged out on Dathomir and can't get double bladed lightsaber.

Summarize your bug When i activated the workbench (after watching youtube, where cal fixes the other end of the lightsaber, turning it into a double blade) my game glitched and i never got the cinematic. I did get the post cinematic text/prompts, but my lightsaber is still broke AF and the double blade won't activate. i tried to quite to desktop, but the game appears to have saved after that "scene". Unsure how to resolve now :-(
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know how or why it happened, or how widespread this issue is.
What happens when the bug occurs? My lightsaber is "locked" to single blade. and nothing has been able to fix it.
What do you expect to see? A solution on how i can get my rightfully earned double blade without restarting a new game.

I don't know what happened, but i'd really like a solution to get my double blade. I did run the verify thing in Origin to see if the game files had a corruption.

Hey folks,

As a workarounds:

Via the Pause menu, check your skills. It's possible that you actually did unlock the double-bladed ligthsaber.

Additionally, there's multiple locations where you can unlock the double-bladed lightsaber. I've listed them below, in the spoiler tag:

Please let us know if the other locations do unlock it for you, if the first one hasn't.

On Dathomir the game freezes as I pick up the double bladed saber part, it says I have it but I’ve tried everything and cannot equip it.

@larsynine I have the exact same issue but I have done both ways and it happened to me both times so I'm stuck like you

Same here. Couldn’t see any way around it to reset the game so I had to start restart from scratch. That was about 3 hours of gameplay wasted.

@larsynine yeh this is a dumb glitch you aren't even able to make saves to go back a redo it! you're stuck on one save where you got it but get it or use it !!

Just happened to me cut scene didn't play i just sat there looking at cal's back then it seemingly ended and boom no lightsaber ☹️ ruined my sesh, im now too annoyed to carry on for now. area is frustrating enough as it.

FIX!!
I had this problem too, I interacted with the bench I could hear the sounds but the animation didn't play and although a window came up saying the double bladed lightsaber is unlocked I could not switch to it, however luckily I managed to fix it without starting a new game!
I don't know about console but on PC I found the save file in:
C:/ Users / (yourPC) / Saved Games / Respawn / Jedi Fallen Order /
In that folder there were 3 files
Backup00.sav
GameUserSettings.sav
SaveGame00.sav
Delete the SaveGame00.sav and when you go back into the game it will say the save file is corrupted but a backup save is there, it will then proceed to load the backup save file which will be the last place you meditated.
This probably only works as long as you did not continue after encountering the bug to another meditation place, therefore if you have encountered this bug DO NOT go to another meditation place, exit the game delete the savegame file and go to get the lightsaber again to see if the bug has fixed.
You will have to fight through some enemies again from that meditation place but at least you won't have to start a whole new game.

@larsynine Have this exact same glitch on the Xbox. Tried reloading the game and doing it again. Same thing happened. Guess I'm going to play my first playthrough with a single-bladed lightsaber. Sigh :/

Got just got the same issue on Xbox. Has anyone tried seeing if it can be picked up at another loot point?

Ok I might have a solution to this. Continued playing the game and returned to Bogdona to explore the rest of the world after getting Force Push. There's a part of the map with Eno Cordova quarters with a workbench. And a cutscene plays where he joins Corduva's lightsaber with his former masters. Woila! Dual bladed saber for the rest of the game.
Did this after Kasyyyk. Hope it helps. May the Force be with you all
