Game stuck on first train scene with stormtroopers

The game is stuck for me. Not that I'm stuck, the game seems to be. In the very early part of the game, the first time you use the light saber you attack two storm troopers, then go through a door to the outside of the train. There are two storm troopers in front of you, and a prompt appears which says "L1 - Hold to block blaster bolts", but I can't do anything. My dude is just stuck there. Mashing any and every button does nothing. The storm troopers do nothing. I'm just stuck in an endless train loop. Quitting the game and restarting from the save point (killing the first 2 storm troopers with the light saber) just ends up in the same place.. stuck.

Feels 100% like a game bug, but is there any known fix?

    This has also happened to me! Reloading save also didn’t fix it. I also restarted the game and then reloaded the save. Then I tried restarting the PlayStation then reloading. Then restarted the PlayStation and started the game over (sucks to not be able to skip cutscenes!) onky to STILL get stuck stuck at this exact point. I’m sad because I don’t have much time to play games (I have a toddler) and this game was expensive.

    I realized my L1 button wasn’t working! I happened to have a second PS4 controller and it works. Totally a local issue for me!

    Anyone ever find a fix to this? Just got the game and I am stuck in this exact spot. I have tried everything.

    This thread is old now, but hopefully I can help newcomers or those who continue to have this issue. For me, the solution was to keep holding L1 (LB on Xbox) until the trooper resumes attacking you. You have to keep blocking so the game can teach you that holding a block depletes your block force.

    EDIT: this solution is actually for the next part of the same scene, inside the train car just after the blaster bolt deflection. The message is “Hold LB to block most attacks.”

    This is still an issue... the storm troopers won't attack sometimes...
