Game breaking - BD-1 invisible on Bogano, can't activate vault

I reached Bogano and activated the the cut-scene where you meet BD-1. However, after that BD-1 was not visible. Whenever I tried to call up the map, it would say "BD-1 is busy". And whenever I jump on a zipline, it looks like Cal is holding nothing. In the run up the hill to the vault, Cal is chatting to BD-1 but BD-1 is invisible. Then when I go inside the vault, I know that BD-1 is supposed to run over to the middle of the room and activate something. But nothing happens.

    I've figured this out. When you get to bogano and first meet BD-1, he runs around independently of you. If you follow him he leads to the hermit's abode and through a few more tutorials. If you don't follow him (which I didn't the first time) it breaks the sequence. You get to a part where he should be with you but isn't.

    I fixed this by restarting the game from the beginning and then following the correct sequence when I got to Bogano. (It took about 40m all told - the fact that you cannot skip cutscenes makes it more tiresome than it needs to be!. It's possible that even if you've broken sequence you could still find BD-1 on Bogano and follow him and it would work, but I haven't tried that.
