Same mashed all the buttons, especially the deploy countermeasures button to no avail, game progress is stuck.

Somebody on reddit said that there is an option in the main controls menu where you can change it from "mash button" to "hold button" and that made it work for them. Worth a try.

Hey everyone,
A quick question for all of you: have you installed the drivers for your joystick?
When mashing buttons did you see any buttons that change the UI element green for a second? If yes keep spamming that button.

- @Nalin-8 confirmed. switching to hold, then reloading from last check point, which will be at the beginning of that scene and you will be able to continue

We've checked out the issues you flagged. For your peripherals, update your drivers and you'll be flying smoothly in no time. I've listed drivers for devices we tested:
PC
- Thrustmaster T.Flight X
- Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog
- Logitech G X52 and X52 Pro HOTAS
- Logitech G X56 (Rhino) HOTAS
- Logitech Extreme
PlayStation 4
Xbox One
I've also seen mention of many of you using the x55, for which drivers can be downloaded on the Saitek website.
Lastly, make sure you check our Tech Briefing help article talks more about support for your peripherals.
If then upon installation of the latest drivers, reconnecting your device and checked settings you're still experiencing issues, we recommend to make a Bug Report.
- @Straatford87 Well given that I'm running a recently redone system where i have Thurstmaster T.A.R.G.E.T installed which can't install with out the damned drivers as it installs them as part of it's own install that should answer that question.
That others have the same issue when using joysticks, again should answer the question as well. The buttons etc on the stick are STILL WORKING, I can go into freelook and out of freelook, I can hit every key on my keyboard etc NOTHING HAPPENS.
And I could have sworn That 'make a bug report' is what I am posting it *Points to the TOP OF THE THREAD*.
You have a bug that stops the game with mash buttons. You need to fix it.. it's not a 'fault' with our systems. - @Nalin-8 this seems to work, thank you far more helpful then EA's own bloody people whom don't seem to bother really testing.
@Straatford87your suggestions made no difference, drivers are up to date and controller is working fine, going into microsofts usb game panel shows all buttons and axis functioning as intended. Also running on the newest patch as of 10/3 still "mash any key" does not progress.
WHY should i install a damn driver for my warthog as windows handle it perfectly since i bought it in 2013 !!!
i never needed any driver for it and never will... or else may be your dev should check their code.
PLUS when we have this message no mouse or even keyboard seems to fix it.
it's just a damn bug on your side POINT!

this happens anytime my shiop is disabled by a missile so even in multiplayer it's crappy.
I've had the same issue as well. I have updated all my drivers for my TM Warthog. Nothing was registering when I was told to mash in campaign. In multiplayer, only very specific buttons were registering as mashing, everything else were useless. It shouldn't be this way..
I've spent hours trying to get this working, and because I've gone over 2hrs usage steam will not refund me. How do I get a refund? Life is too short for this !!!
I was facing the very same problem, switched to "hold any button" instead of mash, and tried each and every key on my keyboard (flying with stick though).
It worked when I pressed Left-Alt
- @Straatford87 This doesn't even come close to addressing the issue. Drivers have nothing to do with this.
