Hello @tufbdd123,
have you already bought the game as pre-order? If not, you can easily buy it on Steam. You can also easily play the game through the EA app, though if you have decided to try playing it on Steam instead, you can try and get a refund so you don't have to purchase the game twice.

- @EA_Pythia So are you saying that if someone pre-orders Jedi Survivor on Steam, they should refund it and purchase on EA App because it won't work otherwise? I have Jedi Fallen Order on Steam, and with the change to the EA App, I can no longer launch the game because of EA. I always get an error saying "an error on our side" hence EA's fault. If I can't get my Steam Pre-order to launch with the EA App, is EA going to compensate me because I can no longer refund via Steam?

Hello @Roebuckhartstag,
no, you can easily play through Steam - you will however also need the EA app. The issue discussed here was that Origin has been replaced through the EA app and if someone was happier with not using Steam, they don't have to buy it twice by getting a refund.
The game can be played on Steam and the EA app - only Origin does not work any more, as it's been completely replaced by the EA app for Windows now.
Regarding your issue with the launching of Fallen Order, please open a new thread, where someone can help you with this issue - while there are different reasons for this kind of issue, it is often solvable. I suggest running Steam as Admin as example, and to put the EA app, and the game as an exception in your Antivirus. This could help with your problem regarding the error message. As this thread is about a different inquiry from your technical issue, I would however request you open a new thread.
If you bought a game through Steam, you will have to refund the game through their services, as EA does not have access to Steam data and sales.

- @EA_Pythia Yeah but you cant tho lol The EA app has broken the game for many steam users and all you need to do is look around any forum and find people in the same situation please use that money that we paid and fix the app so we can play the game we paid for...
yeah but tons are complaining that it doesn't work well. Which makes me want to wait or just not buy the game at all
You won't have to buy it when you update to the EA app. It will port over
Trust me. EA App is garbage. The game doesn't work as it should almost anywhere (including consoles) and the support is kinda ignoring everything you say pretending the errors are on your end when everyone knows it is not ours but EA's fault.
As long as ppl pay them they will continue with this behaviour. You already decided to not give them your money. I was the fool still believing you can not possibly screw up such a big name as star wars. But shiver me timbers was i wrong.
I therefore join you in the observation of not giving them a penny anymore.Thank you, EA for ensuring I will never buy another EA game. I deleted my favorite series when you grabbed them from my hard drive and tried to force Origin on me. Now you are attempting to require I use your new garbage launcher, it's idiotic and will never happen. I don't need or want your crap running in the background on my PC.
