Re: Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering ressource CRASH-4090-24GVRAM

Hi guys,

for all of you who are still tormented by the "out of memory " problem.

For me the following workaround works:

Set in the settings of your swap file as a minimum size of 1.5 times your RAM. For me 16GB Ram = 24GB and as a maximum value 3 times.

For me the game now runs without crashes.

Hopefully EA will fix this soon.

Thank you for this, that was driving me mad. The issue doesn't seem to be with the VRAM itself (I have 24 GB with the 7900XTX), but with how much actual RAM the game requests. I have 32 GB and depending on the area it would crash between 10 minutes and 30 minutes. After raising my pagefile size from 16 GB to 60 GB, the crashing has not occurred for two hours.

Something is very wrong with the memory management of this game. It's at over 45 GB of non-reserved memory now, but hasn't crashed yet.

    Again, thank you!

Edit: It seems to overcommit or something. Weirdly, RAM usage goes down by about 30% after the pagefile has been massively increased.
