Re: error 524, sub account on Xbox live not connecting to the online multiplayer

If you choose to trust your son, follow these instructions to change his account to an adult account that is still in your Microsoft family.

1. Go to your account at account.microsoft.com

2. Select privacy settings and from the three bar drop-down on the left select family. You should see his account there

3.Remove him from the family.

4.Select add new member and choose the adult selection

5.Invite him with his Microsoft email

6.Accept the invite and he should be able to play!

Hope this Helped

Edit: make sure his ea account is set to the raring of the game eg. 16 or 18 :-]

Thanks for the tip.  The problem is that doing this removes your ability to control your child's screen time, blocked adult games (like GTA or Call of Duty), etc.  This is far worse and defeats the purpose of protecting your children from adult content.  (or whatever you determine to not be ok for your kids)

Star Wars Battlefront 2 seems like it is marketed towards young teens.  There is no blood/gore or sexually explicit material.  My son finished the campaign and now all he can do is play the campaign over and over.  Not a good value in my opinion.  EA needs to talk to Microsoft to learn how to integrate control of child accounts like every other XBOX game developer out there.  Microsoft should insist that games on their platform meet their requirements for Family Safety compatibility.

Error code 524. Still instilling frustration. I changed all permission levels to unlimited for my son and I'm still getting the error code .

I tried making a "fake" account account for him to use (using my wife's information, thanks honey!)  Now at least he can play the online content... downside is EVERY time he wants to play, my wife or I have to first enter the password to unlock the Xbox account before he can play.

We've already paid for the game, and considering how long error code 524 has been around, EA  doesn't seem to be very motivated to fix it... I still haven't even read an explaination for what error 524 is.

  • 524. Changed everything for my son. Still can't work. My account is fine but he wants to earn the achievements for himself and for some reason EA thought kids don't deserve to play Star Wars games. I am livid.
