Audio stuttering and cracking when using Xbox storage expansion card
Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:Xbox Series X
Summarize your bug Hi there, after patch 7 I am experience a ton of audio cracking and stuttering throughout all of my gameplay on Xbox Series X when the game is installed on my 2TB Seagate Expansion Card. These audio issues range from little cracks to multiple seconds of no sound at all followed by the audio finally catching up and cracking until it stabilizes. I can't seem to go more than 10 minutes without having some sort of audio cracking or stuttering. I seem to experience these audio issue only during gameplay. Cutscenes play audio normally. These audio issues happen both on headphones and tv speakers. I've tried a few things to fix this: 1. Tried all audio output types in the Xbox settings (Stereo Uncompressed, Windows Sonic, Dolby, DTS). All provide the same audio issues. 2. Started a brand new save in case the issue was related to my older save file. Even a fresh game has the same audio cracking and stuttering. 3. Turned off HDR and Dolby Vision in case that was interfering with audio. This did not change the audio. The only way to fix this is by moving the game to the Xbox’s internal ssd.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Install the game on a Storage Expansion card for Xbox Series X. Play the game on Xbox Series X for 30-60 mins and observe various audio cracking and stuttering in gameplay. I used performance mode.
What happens when the bug occurs? Audio cracks and stutters every few minutes. Stuttering can cause audio to cut out for multiple seconds on end.
What do you expect to see? No audio cracking or stuttering with the game installed on a seagate storage expansion card. I expect to have a smooth audio experience during gameplay.
