https://youtu.be/Ubq_ZF6FLeA?t=15 in this clip I am spamming both of my emote buttons on xbox and as you can see there is a correlation between the number of star cards and emotes
@bosslvl9000 Nathan, that is so odd and you would think with that video that EA would know how to fix this bug. I am sure we aren't meant to unequip cards just to get emotes to work.
The same problems exist on PS4, I haven't tested the emotes extensively to summarize which ones don't work. I do think it is interesting that the problem doesn't exist for every hero or every emote, and that the unequipping of star cards changes the situation. It suggests that the code for how this works on each hero isn't generic...that somehow either different code has been used to make different heroes emote, OR that somehow code that is associated with particular hero cards or abilities interferes with the emote code.
What would be interesting to know, for example, is if very particular star cards interfered with the emotes, or does any star card do that?
And a question, has anyone gotten new hero emotes since the new progression system was released? I haven't. I had about half the hero emotes unlocked before the new progression, but I haven't got a new one since. I was hoping that they'd be unlockable with credits with the April 18 update, but no such luck. Since they don't come in crates anymore, the message that they are available in crates is moot. There hasn't been a single reward challenge for new hero emotes since the progression update, just credits credits credits and a few hero appearances. Maybe they are waiting until the emote problem is fixed, but this is very annoying.

@PaodokThat is exactly what I do for every game of GA and AvV and it works every game. Also what am I supposed to do then?? But yes Dice really needs to have a real fix not some star card shenanigans
@bosslvl9000 It is way better than the alternative. I guess maybe I worded my response incorrectly, sorry if I came across in sounding as though I thought you had to find a solution. I only meant to say that EA should be looking into fixing this so that the steps you are taking could be avoided in the future. Even though you showed how to do it, I think it would be too hard for me to remember each game so I am just going to go without until EA fixes... which could be never as this has been happening since December with no fix.
Same for me on PS4, left/right DPad emotes not working for Leia...and I desperately want to tell someone in game that they are a jittery little thing!

@PaodokI really don't want to remove a card just so I can emote, but I also hate not being able to emote. If EA is aware of this issue why have we not heard about a fix or some sort of path for this? I mean really its been since the game launched this bug or whatever its called has plagued us. I play Fornite and I can say the emotes work on that game. In fact, I believe they went live at the same time and Fornite has had 4 Seasons already. I believe we still have only had the 1 Season so far with this game. I hope that all changes here soon.
@MicaHarrisX Believe me when I say, I don't either. I think EA is looking into this, but they have so many other "HUGE" game breaking issues that they are completely swamped. I am not excusing them from fixing this in any way, I want this fixed already too. I believe it's on a to-do list, just not sure the priority number for it.
@EA_Ataashiwhen you have time could you let us know if this is on the list of fixes (possibly) in the May Patch? Thank you.
- PaodokSo from what I have read on Reddit as well as the videos I have seen from many Star Wars Battlefront II content creators, this is a known bug among many, many bugs. EA, unfortunately, doesn't have the staff to currently work on this as well as new content so these may end up being permanent issues for the foreseeable future. That could change at any time if people start buying skins, thus giving them more money to work with, but that in itself is no guarantee. I say we all just hunker down and try and weather the storm.

Sounds horrible to be short handed. Our manufacturing business is short good techs too. Good economy, which is generating jobs and people spend their earned cash on all kinds of things. Still, when the folks in power put resources in place and then people leave due to stress it is hard to get the next group up to speed fast enough to keep everyone happy. It will swing the other way soon and there will be issues fixed and other things not working.
I agree with Paodok. Hunker down and be glad you have a game that is so wide ranging, 4 Live Multiplayer modes and New things here and there, Arcade is pretty cool too and then Campaign that will be better as you play is at higher AI strength.
On top of the issues and progression related problem with everyone's different and complex Location - Game - Connections, there are whole new games coming and new movies to get even more characters.
I am excited about the new Solo movie too! Hang in there. Manage it just like you would. Priorities. Get after the biggest fire 1st, Get them in and fix everything that makes the game run. Progression comes before extras. GLHF I am a realist but I can say that I get disappointed easily when it comes to someones promise not being fulfilled. This AAA game with DLC Season Content that promised new Heroes, Weapons, and Vehicles in ALL post-launch seasons. I don't blame the DEV Team or Customer Service. It's now on "temper/eloquence talking heads", management, and the powers that be that allocate the workflow. The sad thing is this game could have recovered, it could have been great!
I have seen games with horrible launches have success like Yong mentions for the For Honor franchise. I hate to live in a negative place, but I see that not happening for SWB2 as the For Honor content was pushed out like the Octomom popped out kids.
OH Well, I guess if I want to play a Star Wars game with content I can break out my copy of Star Wars Kinect and dance my sorrow away. "’I'm feeling like a star, You can’t stop my shine. I’m lovin’ Cloud City, My head’s in the sky. I’m Solo, I’m Han Solo, I’m Han Solo. I’m Han Solo. Solo."
If you want to see a great video on this topic check out YongYea:- Anonymous7 years agoThey should be aware by now! =(
- Anonymous7 years agoLol we have to buy the microtransactions that nearly ruined the game (and may still have) to save it?
Ironic. -Chancellor Palpatine @SargeanTravis Oh they are aware of all the bugs, but because they are short staffed they have a list that is prioritized by management. They have to know about the issue since launch but it is a low priority and therefore will remain a low priority until we the users make enough noise by posting in here and other forums. I don't suggest we spam, just saying that we keep posting a "hey were all still waiting for the emote thing to be fixed guys." message to them weekly.
- Paodok- Anonymous7 years agoSame here. PS4 Pro abd PS4 Slim. Emotes not working for either left or right for IDEN and LEIA. I found out after defeating the campaign mode and finally received an emote for Iden. FIX THIS DICE.

I don't know his is true or not, because a friend who isn't on the forums told me, but the recent hot fix supposedly fixed this issue. Victory at last???
Hey, guys, this is fixed if you are still having issues. Go into settings and move the deadzone stick control to 10-15% or fiddle with it until it works. Mine all work. Thanks, EA!
- I had all 4 Leia emotes before this latest patch. I only have one of them after the latest hotfix. Happened to anyonelse?
