It is a good idea, however, this would require additional voiceovers, not just enabling female/male skins everywhere. All classes have specific lines, and I guess they only recorded those with the current genders.

Also, I don't really see why there is a class restriction on the different faces/aliens. (Oh, and where is our Sullustan?)

I really would like to see gender options added to the game too. I would love to play as a female assault Stormtrooper, female Imperial or Rebel officer, or male First Order officer or male specialist. 

We did have this option in the last game, so I don't see a reason to not add it to BF2. Some models (like female Stormtroopers) are even in the campaign already. So they just need to be ported over to the MP/Arcade modes.

Some voice lines should be usable from other classes or factions too (e.g I think you could use at least some lines from imperial specialist for the female Stormtrooper and so on. Or some of the male Imperial officer for a possible male FO officer. Not all of the lines but at least some should be usable for other classes or factions).

I assume the Devs intent is to make each class more unique so players can identify them better on the battlefield (I think this is not necessary, though). But some classes are easy to identiy regardless of gender or species on the battlefield. Most classes have very specific clothing and weapons by which you can identify them. An officer always looks like an officer for example, no matter if it's a male or female one. You can't confuse them with a specialist or assault. Stormtroopers look a lot a like too regardless of gender (just some minor differences in the model), so it wouldn't be an issue too to add female assault Stormtroopers or male specialists. 

I really hope DICE is going to add at least some options for at least a few classes/ga´factions (especiall all Stormtroopers and officers)

If they will release more trooper skins, I hope they will make it possible to change genders. I can understand players wanting to be a male sniper and such. 

Giving the player more options, instead of forcing them to agree/disagree with the developers' ideas is the trick here.
