- @PoptartJuniper No, that happens too but far less frequently. This is more a case of the on screen cursor disappearing, so when you use the analog stick as if you were trying to move the cursor, it simply flicks between the choices you have around the edge of the screen. But it's so much harder to get it to go where you want. And when you do bring the cursor back, it disappears again, especially when clicking on another household member.
Thanks for asking, I hope this is a little more clear? - PoptartJuniper6 years agoHero (Retired)
@EihposDAOrigins Are you doing anything specific when the issue occurs?
Can you go into first person mode by pressing and holding the Right stick down. Then you can hold the stick down again to exit.
An open bug report is here for a disappearing cursor here, though I think your issue is different. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/WORKAROUND-XB1-PS4-Cursor-disappeared/td-p/8383518
There's also this thread that covers controls for console, https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Consoles/Controls-for-The-Sims-4-on-consoles/m-p/6446759#M650
Pressing the touchpad should move the cursor back to the game and stop it from circling the menu bar.
- @PoptartJuniper that's exactly it, it circles the menu bars, and yes, hitting the touchpad swaps it back. However, for a good long while I have the cursor, but once something happens that throws it into the mode where it circles the menu bars, it then keeps on reverting to that mode. Every click of a sim or some of the other menu bar options and I've lost control again. I then have to completely exit the Sims app and restart. Again then for a good while I can keep the cursor, even after clicking to swap housemate. But again, once that horrible circling mode starts, I can't stop it. It is the same with the other rapid menu problem people are reporting.
I guess there's no way of switching off the circling mode completely, but there really should be a way. - PoptartJuniper6 years agoHero (Retired)
@EihposDAOrigins Does using a different controller help? Maybe the touchpad on your controller is sticking or something similar?
- @PoptartJuniper No, it's brand new. It's definitely software related, as is the speed menu issue. The more I research the more it seems others have the same problems, but as with all the big game companies these days nothings fixed 🙄 I appreciate your help though.
