@peytongamegirl , this is the same for any Mac no matter the OS. Sims 2 Super Collection is maintained and updated by Aspyr, not EA.
When you download CC for Sims 2, the CC (unless otherwise noted by the creator) should show as the following formats ("CC name.sims2pack" or "CC name.package"). If your CC has the ".sims2pack" extension, you will have to use the Package Installer to "uncompress" the file to now show the ".Package" extension. Those files ending in ".package" can simply be placed directly into the Downloads folder. All CC in the game must have the ".package" extension to run. Make sure that the CC you download only contains items from EPs and SPs prior to and including Bon Voyage. The Celebration Stuff Pack and Free Time and later are not available in the Super Collection.
When you have the Aspyr Package Installer program loaded make sure it points directly to your Downloads folder in your Sims 2 folder. The Sims 2 files for the Mac are hidden in your Library folder instead of in the Documents folder. (Instructions on how to locate this folder are listed below). The Aspyr Package Installer program should appear as a link in beginning screen when you first launch Sims 2. Also, make sure to simply start up the game when you first install it so that all these files will generate and be available when you try to install CC.
1) To find your Library folder, click on your Desktop.
2) Find the "Go" command at the top in the Finder, hold your cursor button over Go and press the Option key on your keyboard and Library will show when you do that.
3) Scroll through the Library folders until you find one called "com.aspyr.sims2.appstore" and open the folder.
4) You should see two files in there and open the Data File.
5) From there, locate another file named "Library" and then in that file you should should find another Aspyr folder which when opened will reveal the Sims 2 folder (exactly like the original game and on the Windows side).
6) From there check to see if you have a folder named "Downloads" and if you do not, simply create one. This is where all your CC and Mods will be stored.
When you look in your Downloads folder to see if the CC you installed is in there, you will commonly see a string of letters and numbers followed by ".package". This is your CC as when it is installed it isn't always with the name of exactly what it is.
To test if your CC is installed, you will need to start the game and make sure the "Enable Custom Content" button is checked in the opening screen before choosing a neighborhood to play. Quit the game to allow the game to access the CC/Mods as the game has to restart to load any CC you may have installed.
My advice is to organize your CC into categories within this folder once you get it up and running.
I've tried to reorganize the instructions to make a more inclusive of all the information and instructions I can think of to help Mac users install CC into their games.
