Now all I have to do is add the expansions, which I have a question for, do you need to do that for all of its expansions?

long story short I like to start the games after I install them to make sure that they work.

if not I guess I can just install all the EPS and install the graphic rules from there!

Not really sure because I use the Ultima Collection, but I think you have to apply this workaround with every pack 🙂

Game is up and running and works well!

As for the Expansions and Stuff packs, what I had to do was with each one add the graphic rule- which worked wirth all of them!

i've tried using this same method with the ultimate collection, but the error still comes up about my graphics card for the mansions and garden stuff pack. I can't find the pack in my game folders, so i'm unable to edit it with the graphics rules maker, could you help?

In The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, the game's executable is located on C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin\Sims2EP9.exe That's the game main executable for the Ultimate Collection.

I really need your help with running the sims 2 mansion and garden stuff game. I used to have all the expansion packs except the above mentioned and the game used to work perfectly with the sims 2 appartment life. now I installed the sims 2 mansion and garden stuff from an online source and the game is not working anymore but the error about directx appears. it also tells me that i need to insert the CD to play although i made sure that installing the game doesnt require cd for. I read your previous comments and installed the graphics rules maker and did updated the graphics rules inside the sims 2 mansion and garden stuff files but still the error appears. do you have any solution please. really appreciated 

@rasparica13 , if you downloaded a digital copy of Mansion and Garden stuff, it is a pirated copy and will not work with your previous games. There are no official digital copies of any of the Sims 2 games available for the Windows OS. My advice is to uninstall the game to get rid of the illegal content and reinstall using your official games. If you want an official copy of the game, check your local game store for used or unopened copies of the game or check E-bay or Amazon.
