Re: Sims 2 sound stops during game

@Tremayne4260 hi Tremayne! I'm happy for your help once again. Yes the game starts with all the sound and then no sound at all anywhere until I go into settings and change from Stereo to 5.1 and vice versa everytime 

@kcassendo , and you haven't changed the audio settings on your Windows OS either I'm guessing. I've been researching this, so just asking questions to make sure we can find the correct answer.

@Tremayne4260 no I have not. I quit the game and went back on my desktop to see if it was my whole computer but it's really just in the game. I've never encountered this issue before so I think it might have something to do with my game being corrupted. The only solution I've seen on forums is switching the game setting from Stereo to 5.1 and then back to stereo. For me it works for 2 minutes before cutting off again but for other players it seems to have been a permanent solution so....I'll do the Uninstall-reinstall thing. 

Im just wondering, do you think the corruption would be saved in my backup? Because even if I Uninstall-reinstall I wonder if the corruption would come back once I drag my folders again 

@kcassendo , the corruption may be in your saved games. I've had it happen to me in the past. Your CC/mods should be fine. I can't remember how many times I've restarted Sims 2. 🙂 But I always have surprises waiting for me when I play. (Good surprises not bad ones)

@Tremayne4260 omg 😭 this game is so complicated to play loll. Alright I will uninstall and try to restore to see what it does and if it crashes again j think I'll just buy sims 4 😂

What surprises have you encountered?

@kcassendo , I remember when I first played the game I had created a teen sim for Lucy Burb to marry when she got old enough. They did and had a little girl. She grew up and went to University (she was my first sim ever born in game). I was so upset when I lost those saved games. (My hard drive died). In that same set of games, Alexander Goth has my first and only set of twins born (no cheats). 

I wouldn't give up on the game. Do you have headphones you can play with? Sometimes the sound works better with those. 

Sims 2 is an emotional roller coaster loll I'm sorry about your lost games!! Too frustrating. I do have headphones but the sound completely shuts off so it's it doesn't change anything.

@kcassendo , wasn't sure if it would help. Still researching the problem.
