Re: Redeemed Sims 3 codes but wont download as says only available on windows?

Hi there @PinapplePrincess

It sound like you're missing the 64-bit version of your pack which is needed for Mac players. This isn't something we can add manually for you here on the forums as we can't access your account information, but live support can review your account and get the 64-bit version added for you.

To speak with live support for more help on this, you can submit a request here: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/using-ea-help/

  • @EA_Solaire Hey, thanks for your help. I've been trying to get in contact with someone for a few days now and it's borderline impossible. I've tried email, but have been getting only one reply per day and haven't even passed the step of verifying my account is indeed my account before they address my issue. I've also attempted to open a second case through live support but, though the wait time is supposedly 10 minutes, I've not received a response after multiple hours. Do you have any solutions for this? After nearly 3 full days it's getting kind of frustrating trying to get help. Thank you again!

Try submitting a brand new help request on the site and select the live chat option. If the chat doesn't load, you can try these steps:

    • Press F5 to refresh the page
    • Clear your browser's cache
    • Try a private browsing window
    • Try another browser, like Chrome or Edge

    Hey,

I posted on here about 3 weeks ago regarding an issue I'd had with a purchased sims 3 pack claiming to be accessible by Windows only. Long story short someone kindly replied and told me that the best thing to do would be to contact the EA help live chat. I must have tried 4 or 5 times now to contact EA help...I get the obligatory automatic email response that they have received my request and then no further contact. One time I DID have a real person reply to me, and we got all the way to verifying my identity through a code before they suddenly stopped replying. When I checked my cases on EA Help, I noticed the case had been marked "resolved" even though we had never even gotten around to discussing the issue at ALL. I've since tried a few more times to receive help and multiple of those attempts have been marked "resolved" or "fixed" when I never even got a reply from a real person. Another huge problem is that, despite the Chat Wait Time being marked as anywhere from 5-10 minutes when I send my request, I always have to wait HOURS for a reply. Not to mention they always email during the nighttime, when I am asleep. I then don't see their email until another few hours later, slowing down the process even more. I tried to find a phone number to speak directly to someone, but there's no number available for my country. It's incredibly frustrating because I've been trying to get a response for 3 weeks now. What's the point of a tech help service that doesn't actually help? So my question my question is...: does anyone know a better way to get EA help's attention?? Some way to get a quicker response and not be marked "resolved" when my issue is NOT in fact resolved?

    Thanks.

Funny story: I am currently having the exact same issue courtesy of the instant gaming site who could not offer a refund as I had already 'redeemed the code', even though it made no indication that it wasn't available on Mac prior and even SAID on the website that it worked on Mac. But, the funny part of the story is that the EA help sent me TO THIS FORUM, where you are also struggling and have found no resolution??? Thanks a lot EA help.

i'm currently attempting to start up my old windows laptop to see if i can download it there in the hopes that it will then show up on my Mac. If this works the sims 3 ambitions BETTER BE GOOD.

@LilyRose05 As an update; I stated what the previous commenter said about trying to obtain the 64-bit version and my advisor says it is 'out of there hands' so I think im losing out on that £5 today
  • ahh, it was instant gaming that got me too! no disclaimers about it being windows only ANYWHERE, then refusing to give a refund once the code was put through. such a shame EA is refusing to give you the 64 bit version when you rightfully paid. there's no reason it should be incapable of being updated. i'll keep trying to reach out and speak to an advisor, but it seems pretty hopeless at this point. good to know its happened to more than one person though!

Actually InstantGaming or the key aren't the problem this is a bug with the Origin/EA App itself. The key is exactly as doing it when using the Sims 3 disc, the game is playable as long it's compatible with the operating system. There aren't System Only keys. A friend of mine had the same issue and all it did to get it fixed was using the EA Help live chat and it got solved in 5 minutes.

    So try this out!
