After playing for several hours, with no issues whatsoever, I saved and quit. When I restarted the game later my time control keys (`,1,2, and 3) no longer worked. Manual time controls (by clicking in the hud) still work, though. I found the bug in the listed bugs thread and it said that restarting the game could help. I restarted my game and the same problem persists. I restarted my entire computer and still the keys don't work. Unplugged my keyboard and reconnected it. No effect. Other keys such as tab, <, >, -,+ for camera control do work. I am in the Sims 3 camera view option. I tried to change that back and forth and it had no affect on the issue. Literally brought this computer home last night from rebuilding it to run this game, and it runs great besides this hiccup. Do you guys want pc specs here? Or are we just compiling the current bugs?

i usually use the 1,2,3 hotkeys to speed up my game,but it sometimes doesnt even work! im thinking this is some kind of bug?
i thought going to the main menu then going to my home would work, but that didnt. I also tried restarting the game and that also didnt work. Then i noticed the "needs" icon was glowing i clicked on that and the hotkeys started working! THEN after that i wanted to know if that solved my problem. so i restarted my game, went back in, first tried to click the hotkeys to see if it'll work and it did work...im not sure whats going on!!

Just hit the enter key and they should work again just fine

Hi,

From what I can tell this should not be a hardware issue. Aside from trying a game restart there are no other known workarounds for this problem.
The only solution at the moment is to wait for a patch to be released unfortunatly ):

Have you tried starting a new game? Is this problem game-wide or does it only affect your current save game?

This happens now every time I boot up the game, restarting doesn't work. My current work around is simply pressing "P" on the keyboard. Others have said opening up the console window "CTRL+SHIFT+C" and typing has worked as well.

I haven't had this issue yet though 2 people I know (different computer builds) have had the issue, it's a game problem as yxkillz stated.
The issue fixes for them fix (sometimes) when they minimise then resume the game, or restart it.

Try pushing ESC and ESC again while in live mode, that usually fixes the issue for me until the next time I reload the game. 🙂

This is an issue that has been reported in the old bug thread as well. I've now added this thread as link so please post any info you can think of

It does not seem to be restricted to the 1-2-3 key but all kinds of key-shortcut.

Everything can be important from the keyboard setup to your operating system.

The more data the better.

Windows 7, Razer Anansi Keyboard - however, I have the time controls keybound to my mouse as well and those also stop working until I press "P".

I searched for a previous report of this bug and couldn't find it, but sometimes when I start the game the hotkeys for time acceleration (Num pad 0, 1, 2, and 3) do not work. Restarting the game doesn't fix it, and the only fix I've found so far is a complete reboot of my computer.
