Re: load was saved with a newer version of the Sims 4 than is currently installed

It's a corruption issue rather than a bug.


I'll leave it here for now. Haven't translated the solution to english yet but did you try moving the saves folder to your desktop and deleting the cache files (been suggested in several of those threads).

I would try if the savegame still works when you put it back and only get rid of the scratch folder.

    ok, just tried again and that worked, but putting the old saved files back bring back the error.  So my old saved games are just lost?  That sucks... should I be pulling those before updating in the future?

    Try creating a new household, your data might still be there, and then you can make a fresh, clean save file.

    So you put the one back that's in the saves folder, not the scratch one, right ?

    Do you have a ver<number> version of your savegame ? If so, you can check if those work by removing the ver<number> part (

    how do I do that? I'm not good with technology I don't know how to get to the saves folder to move it desk top, step by step simple instructions would be so helpful!
