@MeganFord1213  An alias is just an icon that's linked with a real program stored somewhere else.  When you make a desktop shortcut or an entry in your dock for an app, that's an alias.  The program files are stored somewhere else, like in Applications.  Double-clicking on the alias will launch the app, so you don't have to go rummaging around in subfolders each time you want to open it.

Each Sims 3 pack is supposed to have its own alias in Applications\The Sims 3, where the base game alias is, but some packs don't get installed properly.  It's easy enough to make an alias for each of these packs—the instructions I linked tell you exactly where to look and what to do.

TS3 is the abbreviation we use for The Sims 3.  I for one get lazy and tend to avoid typing out the whole string.
