Re: Invite/impress the headmaster (private school)

Home schooling would be great! 🙂 It would be a good way of adding different interactions between  children and sims older than them, and would be great  for simmers who wrote simlit to have as a part of their stories that they write.

Having the option to send your children to private schooling or participate in home schooling would be fabulous.  Educational outings to the art gallery and going digging for fossils…. There are so many different things already existing in the game to facilitate home schooling.

I really miss the private school from sims 2 and having to impress the principal.

Home schooling might help with burnout (if Growing Together is added). I feel bad sending them to school when they are dazed with it. Or when young Sims are going through their "dressing as a bear" phase (one small sad Sim child image attached). 😞

One thing I don't miss from older Sims games is military school though! That was always harsh. I don't remember the private school from Sims 2 but I was on console so it either wasn't available or I forgot about it. I do remember having Sims who were teachers in Sims 2 pets though. I think I remember in Bustin Out they automatically disappeared to private school after a few days... or the dreaded military school.

But it's time the school day got a bit of a base game shake up for younger Sims in particular. Teens get a bit more of a rounded school experience with High School Years.

Your picture of the child going through their dressing as a bear phase and feeling sad, makes me sad also @simsplayer818 ☹️ Being able to stay home and do home schooling would be a comfort for them whilst going through that phase or if  another sim has passed away or there has been a large fire or electrical storm.

  • @rosemow Yes that's true. They could also have snow days.
There's a work from home function already so it could be adapted for home schooling.
    They could have tasks like:
Play Arithmetic Attack for 1 hour
Practice Typing for 1 hour (my least favourite IRL after school I was glad my parents couldn't tell I was playing on the computer instead lol 😜)
    Build a school project
    Plant something or tend garden
Read a Skill book to level 2
Climbing frame or swim for 1 hour
Write a children's book or short story. (My favourite one as a child).

The tasks could work like the current WFH tasks and just tick off one by one. Who knows they might even move up the grades faster.
