Re: [ARCHIVED] Incorrect suspect traits/Suspect doesn't show up

I had a German user suggest that the game gets confused by 'old' evidence not remove from the inventory after solving the game. Unsure if that's the case since I never had a problem although I leave them there all the time.

What's your opinion on that ?

It's true that I've used some old evidence for most of my cases. It's like an exploit - I've even solved some cases COMPLETELY with old evidences. But I had no problems till the latest case. Moreover, I'm pretty sure that during this bugged case I used only clues I got from the evidences that weren't "old", all were from that particular case.

So I'm not sure if there is a connection, but I won't say there isn't.

Maybe it can be connected with the TS4 wiping out random townies? Maybe game wiped out real suspect and then chose some random one instead?

That could be very likely. Sims 3 Ambitions loved to do that too with the ServiceNPCs. Annoying.

  • I figure my problem is not "quite" what you guys have, but I think its related... like another facet to the same disease. I think you're dead on with the townie cycling.

I'm working my 2nd case (yeah, I savor and have little time) under the detective profession and I was stuck in a never-ending loop on the "Issue ABP" option. I finally have to crash it.

Here's the thing. I'm the one who also does housekeeping on the townies. I don't like mass creations of the same thing, so I will intermittently go in and thin it out.

    1. started case as detective, gathered evidence, work day ended

    2. Probably cleaned some townies about here

    3. went back to work on the same case from the day before, had enough details for the APB, hung for 3 hours and never moved.

I really didn't think it would have a major affect, just respawn or reassign the culprit to a remaining sim, but apparently they did not anticipate that.

Not sure I understand you right but you're saying you probably delete your suspect and now you have can't solve the case ?

The other day I deleted all my old games and started fresh.  So,  there's nothing about old evidence that could be causing a problem.  I'm having the same issue, every clue is wrong.  Even gender was wrong on my first case.  This has to be a bug that came with that last update.
