I've bought restaurants a couple of different times and had a good first day(s) of business- then when my sim returns home, the restaurant doesn't show up in their owned businesses tab. When they return to the restaurant lot it's still not available even if the manage worlds screen shows that sim as the owner of the restaurant.

Are you using any mods ? Did you try selling it through the map and re-buying ?

If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves, upload to mediafire or dropbox and PM me the link.I have been having this same issue. I have been trying to figure it out since the pack released. I also reinstalled and uninstalled the whole series to get it to work. I have sold the restaurant and bought it again. I've tried buying different restaurants with different households and it's happening with all of them. I don't use mods or cc. I was so excited for this pack to release and now I'm very annoyed with it. If you find a solution to this problem, please let me know. I will do the same for you, as well.
I am wondering if this problem has been fixed for you? I have been playing since city living came out and had no problems until recently. I had not operated the restaurants in a while at least since vampires came out but was working fine before. I also tried what has been suggested here but no luck. Thanks.

Was the restaurant owner evicted or moved to another home lot at any point while owning the restaurant?
No, and as soon as I go to buy mode it shows up as owned. However the last few times I have tried it doesn't let me on lot just goes back to the world view.
quick update! I decided to bull doze the restaurant and put another in its place and now they are all showing up properly! This was yesterday and so far today it is working also.
