Just wanted to echo what everyone else here has been saying; I've noticed this issue as well. Any update on a possible resolution?
I tested it and let the game run automatically for over 1 hour.
From Tuesday to Tuesday next week.
On Sunday evening 3 Sims got their money.
On Monday, the last Sim got his.
It may be that running the game without playing it does not cause the problem.
But all the time, I have not received any reports about other families who also should have received money.
When I played the game earlier, I got such messages from the other families from time to time.
It would be helpful if I could see at the tooltip of the Shrewd trait on which day of the week the next payment arrives. š
For testing, it would be nice if the "cheat clock.advance_game_time" work again ... but he does not right now.
Sry, but right now I do not have time to play and test more. ā¹ļø
Edit: I have send SimGuruNick a PM for the save file.
Hey Nick do you still need saves for this? It's been a few human weeks since my Sim completed this aspiration, and I have never seen money from it.

We were actually able to reproduce this issue on our end, but for sure, additional save files would be great as it would allow us to narrow down similarities between the files. Thanks so much for the help!

OH! It's probably way too late, but it just occurred to me that save has more than one playable households. The Piersons is the one with a Sim with the shrewd trait. So sorry.
After playing a few sims weeks post the early September patch I can confirm that "Shrewd" is still not working. But at least I have my basement levels back š
This issue happens to me too. I didn't even get the notification.
Is there any update on this issue? It's been more than a month since we've heard anything, and the most recent patch didn't resolve it (at least for me).

The 'Shrewd' trait doesn't work if you leave the house lot (the sim can go to his/hers job, but you can't join him either). Otherwise it seems like the timer for the 7 days resets every time you leave the house lot.
I got 2 or 3 times when the trait activated and got the 5% interest on the money, but so many weeks passed without me getting any money.
This still seems like a bug to me and hope it gets fixed...
I understand it was a small update and it may not have been on the manifest but "Shrewd" still isn't working after the "October 3rd update" ... for me at least, happy if it is working for others. š

Still no money from Shrewd trait. Is this being worked on?
It used to be that when playing with other households I'd get messages from the household with a Shrewd-traited Sim.
Now when I started playing again recently this stopped happening, I was glad at first, thinking they fixed getting messages from other households but now found out the whole thing just doesn't work anymore.
It's like stuff gets broken at a faster pace than they can fix it.
This still appears to be bugged. Seems like the patches have done a number on this game. I've been encountering numerous bugs that never used to be an issue. I completed the fabulously wealthy aspiration and my sim never received the benefit. It seems they are more worried about producing new content then maintaining the original.
