I've had this happen too, and not just in build mode. It will scroll very fast in world selection and the scrolling when looking though bookshelves or chest will also scroll too fast. Bookshelves and chests are the worst and do it more often. The cursor will jump between the chest and the inventory instead of scrolling down the storage container inventory. 

Edit: The scrolling problem also occurs in the CAS.

I'll try to catch a video next time it happens. 

@SimQARobo  I managed to get a quick capture of the scrolling in my inventory. It's only 8 seconds but you can see the selection just bouncing all over the inventory instead of scrolling one item at a time. It happens very randomly. All the above at random moments. Anything that can scroll, will scroll way too fast for awhile at some point until it decides to stop. 

This happens to me too! Also on PS4. Leaving my controller alone for a few minutes sometimes helps, or turning off the controller and back on again but occasionally neither of these will work and I have to completely restart my game. Very frustrating!

@PoptartJuniperThis happens to me as well, so often that I can't play the game anymore. I own everything but 4 kits and am on PS4. The ping-ponging around happens on menus, in World selection, in build mode, and CAS. When I aim for a lot, as another example, the cursor/pointer drifts upward then the ping-ponging around begins, In build mode the scroll races through the box endlessly without pressing any buttons. Sometimes, I can hit the circle button to break or slow the cycling through. This doesn't happen in my other games. @SimQARobo

Haven’t played in a while and wanted to see how this operated on the PS5 (now that I was finally able to get one, smh). But, glad to let everyone know this glitch has carried over to the PS5. I guess because it’s still technically the PS4 version. Just mistakingly purchased 5 items at a vending machine, lol.

I haven’t purchased any of the 2020+ releases so maybe that a factor but, I doubt it.
