Re: [OPEN] [CD] Dogs stays awake all night, collapse several times

@Nindigo79 Could you please also test a new save that never saw any mods ?

I would think that would get more reports if it was widespread.

@crinrict This is a new save. I haven't had mods installed since IL was released. I can't do anything further short of re-installing the game.
  • This happened on one of my legacy saves, but only to one dog (has not happened to cats). The dog was an adopted Toy Spaniel, if it matters. The dog in question seemed particularly needy, constantly needing attention and busting into my sims' queue for praise, and thinking about going for a walk while my sims slept until it passed out. After it died, the family got a new dog and that one has not collapsed (bulldog). That save is heavily modded, though, and I was unable to play it without mods/CC or an entire bedroom will disappear (pufferhead).

I have also seen this occasionally on reddit, but there hasn't been an AHQ report to link to (getting someone to click a Me Too button is hard but easier than asking them to fill out a whole bug report, especially if they can live with the bug).

I'm distracted with IL at the moment, but I can add a dog on my vanilla test save without mods when I have some spare time and can report back. Give me a few days, lots of irl stuff going on.

I know this makes sense to wait for several people to reply about their experiences but the way you say it sounds like you don't believe them. What if they have this problem nonstop and nobody helps them for 3 years and then people do come in to help adhere to the issue at hand and you still do absolutely nothing like now. I'm having issues with laundry day dlc and cats and dogs dlc where my pets will be afk idling until they pass out in the middle of the living room on all of my sims' households. This is absurd that we have to wait years before a fix for a bug that has treaded on.

So get this straight please, we have about 3 major bugs in the game that nobody likes one bit and have been waiting what seems like forever for a fix. These bugs are the rocket bug, where the rockets you buy don't work for crap at all and its possibly from the finchwick fair happening in cottage living. We have a cats and dogs idling and passing out because not autonomous bug, not even sure where it came from or how to fix that other than give it some options to go run around or dig up bones or maybe even claw a mattress, they won't even hide under the couch when it rains and they have a quirk that gives them that fear such as skittish. They don't act like they should is my point. And then finally there's the laundry day bug which basically makes the laundry day dlc completely pointless unless you have littlemssam's mod which I don't even know if it fixes it... That dlc was completely useless after a year and I'm not even sure where to get a mod to fix that. A modder can do way better than your programmers... why? The rocket bug was fixed by a modder before the update or patch you added which didn't even fix anything.

So here are the bugs you all need to address to the programmers of yours straight away that need fixing the most:

dogs and cats - dog idling when sim sleeps(possibly also cats)

laundry day - cannot clean clothes that are already clean, can not put dirty clothes in washer (in short, can't clean clothes in either machine at all after a time)

rocket bug - all rockets are non-interactable because finchwick fair prevents them from being accessed. This also ruins events in san myshuno. (fixed with mod) and even after the fair, they never can be used.

I hope you all get to this soon because I'm losing my patience. You are all focusing the wrong bug fixes.

Just noticed if you have Growing Together House Guest will also idle when everyone in the household sleeps. I thought this was just a pets issue but nope its also with sims staying over.

I had this with roommates too. They idle most of time and barely sleep. cats and dogs pass out from exhaustion even though there's a pet bed. Hope it can get fixed at some point ☹️
