- @InsameINC Same, I have had two sims without a bloodline trait that have been affected
Did some more testing could be relevant or not seems to happen alot if time is sped up and your sims needs are very low. Went save for save with a sim now with the ancient bloodline trait and was able to fill up all the spells and traits without this happening instead of using the cauldron or practicing spells I used motes for the last bit each time. Also made sure the spell book is closed and that tab is never open when I level up . Each pass worked without problems.

Looking forward to a fix soon. My Sim was born in game with the weak bloodline trait. His parents became Spellcasters during game play and do not have the trait. The teen reached virtuoso before his YA birthday without cheats. All was well until today when the perks panel "broke" for all three and cannot be viewed.
Only the teen has the bloodline trait. Neither of his parents (created by me in CAS as regular Sims) has the trait but are still affected.

Never used CC or mods. @SimQARobo I played the game for hours yesterday. I had removed the bloodline trait from my casters and nothing broke when my sims who are at virtuoso level keep refilling the bar. I find it curious, however, that when all your perks are purchased that you keep gaining talent points but can do nothing with them. What's with that?!
Also when only 1 of my casters had the trait and the others didn't it did break the spellbook perk points system. So no caster can have any of the bloodlines.

Currently keeping two threads
1. This one where no more perks can be gained and mostly bloodline related
2. Game spatting UI errors and empty perk books: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-ROM-Spellcaster-UI-causes-LUIEs/td-p/8226012
They're probably related and there might even be more issues than that but that's the distinction for now. Are you saying that this thread is no longer for people that have UI issues? Even though according to the September 17 patch notes this issue was not fixed and therefor this issue is ENTIRELY about UI issues in combination with the bloodline trait?
The lack of perk points is an issue that was added later after said patch that was not supposed to touch this issue. By no longer making this about UI issues you are essentially invalidating the majority of the pages in this thread. I was pretty understanding up to this point, but that's just wrong.
Shouldn't you have created a new thread with issues that have spawned mysteriously after the patch, leaving this for the original issue that was identified by Maxis but supposedly not fixed yet?

@SimInfinity They are probably related but people approach error reports by different angles. Some go by errors that the game throws others go by the symptoms they see and threads get mixed up. I can just merge all and make it even more confusing.
I'm not going to go through all the posts in here to check which fits better in which thread. Both are issues and both have been forwarded and worked on. It's on QA to find out what they need to fix and what not.
There have been many saying that they don't have the bloodline trait and still have issues so I removed that reference although for most it is about that
No one said neither was fixed, nor that the bloodline trait doesn't play an issue but it's extremely difficult to keep threads on this on topic. There have always been two threads but now the distinction is a bit different.
I could also merge everything and make a huge collection thread on all issues with the talent book. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish but the fact that two people made threads about the UI's errors they're getting tells me that it's better to have that distinction, even if it is the same issue.I basically merged the two old threads (bloodline/non-bloodline) and left the new one that was reported after emergency patch for the LUIE. You can post wherever you see fit.
- @crinrict When I removed the bloodline trait from casters and non-casters in my household I get to virtuoso level, keep gaining talent points, and the spellbook doesn't break. I've been playing this for 4 days with a ton of mods and all is good.
I can confirm that my main save 4 months old is not affected by the new bug introduced in the small patch and works with a mod to prevent ranking down the way it should. However every new savegame I try to start is affected.
Stinks that the magical bloodline sims are glitched but the regular starter level ascended spellcasters work just fine
