Re: [FIXED] Harvestables disappearing from sims' inventory and chest inventory

<Edit by CM to remove reference to removed content>

Jokes aside though, I feel like EA is personally targeting me. I know right, paranoid much? But hear me out: I've joined this forum last June because I was doing the 100 Baby Challenge and all of a sudden the "Baby Won't Eat a Full Meal" bug appeared out of nowhere. One second I'm happily popping kids out of my Sim's vajayjayabrams, the next there are screaming toddlers on the verge of starvation and smelly plates stuck in thin air. I won't deny it, that gave me a tinge of PTSD. But I managed to make it work by avoiding cooked meals altogether. That's right, I've placated the tiny monsters by serving them harvestables breakfast lunch and supper, the future is vegan, folks! Sure it was for my Sim-kids anyway.
And what fresh hell did the merry folks in EA put out of their top-hats now? That's right, no more stockpiling harvestables for you, lady! I mean, I've completed my Challenge long ago, but is not like I didn't morph it into an extremely intricate Legacy Challenge because you all know how this things goes. At this point I would like to commit my future generations to a strict diet of EA developers only. Hey game modders out there, what say you?

@YuleNorwood If they aren't going to fix this bug soon, the least they could do is give us proper scuba diving and snorkeling so we won't drown while searching for our wayward veggies.

@RandomBuzziness Given the care they're showing toward their customers is more likely for them to build a very tall wall around the perimeter and ditch the ladder.

@YuleNorwood We know this bug is a high priority on their fix list (this much has been confirmed), so I guess we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for the next game patch. Well, that and have the biggest apple bob in all of Windenburg!

I am also having this bug, and I can't believe it went live. WTF EA.

My sentiment exactly, made me think that their quality control could not be very good if a bug as blatantly obvious as that passed undetected.

One would have thought that they had made automated tools that checked and kept track of stuff like that for them.  I mean that the 'save' function works correctly and that it is capable of transferring content of inventories and storage items is of paramount importance in a game like The Sims where people are spending so many hours aquiring the  items and so on.  Well , a correctly working safe function is of paramount importance most computer games IMO...

@DanishLighthouse I suspect EA has used automatic testing system in their development. That's the reason why we have this kind of annoying bugs when new patches come out. They should be caught if their test cases covered all game detail.

Yeah, new saved game and sim harvested in Willow Creek all harvestables disappeared when she went to the spice festival AND her sketchpad too. Her father's sketchpad disappeared from his inventory too.

I decided to stop playing games I am recording and play a new sim family but it isn't just stuff that is growing that disappears. Her homework, scout book and painting remained in her inventory, but the sketch pad disappeared. Also, all perfect harvestables from the spice festival reverted to normal when she arrived at her home lot in Willow Creek. #bummed

I'm sure they didn't care as long as they met their deadline to get the expansion out for the holidays. 🤔

Unless your goal is to assassinate all of your sims this game is not playable.

I am playing a new family with a new save. Could not play the freelance painter career, because the freelance career has a bug. Switched him to the science career -- harmless enough I thought, until every dang on thing he dug up disappeared!!! So, nope can't earn more than §65 simoleans a day because the metals and crystals keep disappearing from his inventory. Yes, spent the entire day digging them up, only to have the work day end and they disappear from his dang on inventory.

@SimQARoboI really hope you guys fix this quickly. As I can't do anything in this game that requires a sim store items in their inventory. My sim dug up 12+ digs and had crystals and metals, etc. Only to get home with one crystal and a thingee. So, I can't do A  N  Y  T  H  I  N  G in the science career, or fishing, or gardening, or anything that requires anything. Can't complete collections nothing.

    Happy holidays y'all

Darn ! , it deletes the stiufff that the 'Sim' digs up too ?

I have been sitting here thinking that EA would have had so many more complains if more people had noticed that stuff disappeared from the inventories and if more people had 'harvestables' that were of above normal quality.

And then I find out that I didn't even notice it all myself ! LOL (ROTFL)

You know, I thought it was just build mode messing with me, but I keep losing things like my TV. Sometimes I find them in the family inventory. Sometimes I sit there and think "Where did it go?" It wasn't until I found this thread that someone reported seeing an object disappear right in front of them. So I knew it wasn't my imagination. The SIMS team really messed up, big time, this time around.

In the meantime, I'm doing a legacy parent challenge where you try to be all the different kinds, but there is a reason each parent turned out how they did. I have to say though, I did so well with money staying at home as a single parent that my single mother's son is going to be completely obsessed with his job and need to reach level 10 in his career "because he didn't have much growing up". I mean sure, when he was an itty bitty his toys were a race car and wabbit tablet and they had the smallest house in existence, but once she managed to splice dragon fruit and grow it indoors, they've been ROLLING in the money and he's been given the best of everything.

Plus since day one her life is him. So he's gotten a lot of love, affection, attention, help. I decided that made him self assured for his first trait. One day he went to school and came back to it completely decked out, renovated, and much bigger house. She's a strong believer in making do with what you have, but sells her dragon fruits to all those sorcerers at the magic school for serious money. *laughs* I've decided that's going to be her legacy to the family and great, great, great Nana's plants will live on long after she's passed on. *LAUGHS* I usually have aging mode turned off so this is proving a serious challenge for me. My babies are growing up and old faster than I'm ready for them to! ☹️

Anyone curious and bored enough to try it, here is the link: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/797716/ts4-parentcy-challenge

If nothing else it might distract you from the sadness that are these horrible bugs. I'm up to 32 points. Go me! Come on Mommy...just a few more points in a few areas and I'll seriously have some points. Hahaha.

    Dear all,

I think I've found a temporary solution. I built a small garden shed with shelves on my lot, where I store only the best plants, vegetables, fruit and flowers. They stay there even though I travel and/or store.
All my other plants, vegetables, fruits and flowers remain in their standard containers. E.g. fridge, chest ...

    This works for me
