"Save as" works but when you try to save the new save you get the error code zero again.
This happened to me today while playing in university. After furnishing the cafeteria I was not able to save the game. It was some festive day going on, something about "honing the skills". I ended the festive event early and tried saving again but it did not solve the problem.
Ooh I got it working again. It's just that I don't know what I did exactly. I know that disabling mods didn't change a thing. I then repaired the game and emptied the cache files and restarted everything but the game still wouldn't let me save. I was playing my third Save File at the moment.
I made fourth "Save as" version and played for a moment. I then took my sim back home (university lot) and emptied all inventory items to the lot. And then when I tried saving it it much to my surprise didn't send the error code anymore but I was able to save normally. Now when I go back to my original Save File it is possible to save the game where I first had to drop it. On that file everything is exactly as it was but somehow it lets me save it now. On that Save the inventory is still full and I let the game roll only for a second or two (my sim took few steps but that's all) before the save. So like I said, absolutely no changes at all on that Save File. But it works.
Error code 0 began after the Aug 8 patch for me. I had also made a change in Neighborhood Stories to stop adopting pets around the same time. I can save with save as but it doesn't last for more than a few saves. I'm playing the Lynx family and removed the lot trait that allow strays to show up. Had not noticed the error message at first but once it started it affected another family in the same save.
Having read that save to manage worlds worked I tried it. It seemed to work - but after a few of these when I went back to the game nothing really got saved at all. If I have to do save as it will take forever.
Similarly, I seem to be able to make minute changes that work for a bit, but the code keeps coming back. At this point, I have:
I feel like I'm walking a tightrope while playing. It's really not the relaxing experience I play this game for!
For the one who suggested it, thanks for the info on High School, University and Lovestruck worlds. I got this Error after going to Ciudad and trying to save there. I tried your trick of going to Willow Creek, doing a Save As, then backing out to menu, going back in to Willow Creek and Saving (regular Save) and it worked. I'm so worried to even play at this point! Really, really angry with EA about this buggy mess. I'm on Xbox Series X.
