@Mexssimthank you for this!! Actually just posted in a different thread about this issue. I have a household with 4 sims. 3 are fine but 1 is broken. I took a look and the broken sim did indeed have a singing level of 5. As soon as I set the singing skill level to 4, all the options appeared again when I clicked on her or another sim.

Not sure if this is in any way related but since I saw it mentioned as a possible reason, the broken sim would also have been affected by the holiday fix in the most recent patch. Before the patch, she was not able to celebrate any holidays, but the other 3 sims in the household were.

Tried out the fix @Mexssim gave and can confirm that fixed the problem. 

I did a bit of further experimenting and the problem appears whenever the singing skill is at rank 5 or higher.  If you cheat it down the problem disappears right away but if you raise it back either through cheats or gameplay then the problem comes back and if a sim that was previously functioning achieves rank 5 singing (through cheats or gameplay) they will immediately break.

Good to have an answer and a workaround, but still super frustrating. I’m going to mark down my sims’ skill levels so I can reset them once the bug is fixed.

Both of my broken sims were level 5 singing. I adjusted to level 3 and the pie menu is back.

I think it's best not to go to karaoke until EA fixes the problem. : D

If only it were that simple! My sims randomly start singing all the time, especially on holidays! I'll have to watch them like a hawk, lol

I can also confirm that this workaround does work for me as well.  I dropped my sims singing skill back to level 1 and I can get all the social options available again.

Interesting it was the singing skill. I wonder if it has something to do with the serenading dialogue you get from the singing skill. Because it has to relate to the dialogue tree in order to be affected, right? And what skill level do you have to be to get that dialogue option again? I have been using a mod to get rid of serenading because I found it annoying. I'm going to try to see if that mod make the bug irrelevant once I update my game. Still waiting for mods to update before I update my game.

Funny, I was going to speculate that the new stuff pack with collectibles might have something connected to the Geek or Collector traits and ask if someone tried to remove them and see if that worked.

Remember when the High School Years patch was released and it has an aging up bug that came up with it. And that was cause when the devs messed with the amount of days each life stage lasted and created that bug in the scripts. Even recently when they fixed the neighborhood brawl holiday in Seasons, but created a new bug where the first three Sims listed in the CAS order got to celebrate holidays.

I'm curious to how the singing skill got messed up based on either the bug fixes or the new stuff pack coming out on Thursday.

Anyway, time to lay off the karaoke or visiting karaoke bars for a while. 😋

ty, social menu is back with work around, still cant click mailbox and when click on DJ booth it drops bad errors

The workaround  (singing skill less than level 5) worked for me. The Social menu is back for my celebrity sims.

Thank you @Mexssim for finding the cause for this particular one. I've accepted the post as solution for visibility. EA is still looking into this, this doesn't mean the bug is solved.

There's now several threads that might be connected. I'm not going to go through this threads to try and keep them clean.

I can confirm that all my affected sims had singing skill >= 5.

I just wanted to add that the mailbox problem (only option "Get Mail") is NOT fixed by lowering the singing skill. (It affects all sims, all households.)

This did allow my two young adult Sims to now interact with each other as well as to cook again.  However, I am still unable to interact with certain objects - ex. mailbox still broken

 @crinrict The changing singing to a lower than five skill level undeniably works to unstick sims, and I am very pleased about that. HOWEVER, this glitch is much more complex than that.

I was able to put a saved copy of sims from my Library into the game who both have all skills maxed out, including singing. I could play them both without changing anything, and they had their social menus working. I saved and quit the game.

When I opened the game again, the male sim still had a working social menu. The female was glitched. I was able to unstick her by changing her singing level to four. I saved and quit the game.

When I opened the game again, both the male and female had working social menus.

So, if singing is the culprit, then why does the male, who has singing level up to ten, still work fine? But the female had to have her level reduced to four in order to get back her social menu?

This glitch makes no sense, whatsoever. Edit to add that the mailbox works for them.

I had this problem and tried everything down to uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and the singing skill solution actually worked!!!

Hi I have found a solution to the problem. The problem occurs when the Sim's singing skill has a value greater than 5. To solve it, you need to reduce the skill value to less than 5.

Here are some steps you can follow:

1. Open the cheat console:
• PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
• Mac: Cmd + Shift + C
• PS4: L1 + L2 + R1 + R2
• Xbox One: LB + LT + RB + RT
2. Type the following command in the console: stats.set_skill_level Major_Singing X
• Replace X with the value you want the singing skill to have. Make sure it is a value less than 5.
3. Press Enter.

Example:

If you want your Sim's singing skill to be 3, type the following command: stats.set_skill_level Major_Singing 3

Note:

This command only works if you have the The Sims 4: City Living expansion pack installed.

Please correct your post. The CMD key is NOT used to bring up the cheat console on Mac. It is the CTRL key, same as Windows users. It has never been the CMD key, ever.

Turns out I can't click on NPCs or NPC stands either.  I am playing the Supersim challenge but it is making it unplayable.  I am on the soulmate aspiration (I only do one aspiration at a time) and I need to perform romantic interactions with my spouse 50 times but I can't even perform 1 action let alone 50.  ☹️

The cheat works but even then my Sim cant use the mailbox or play the guitar ... they REALLY * the game up!

Thank you for all of the hard work testing to find a temporary solution; it worked in my save as well. 

But what sucks is my current active save that I’ve been working on is a super sim, so it really sucks going backwards in progress. I know it’s not too much, but it’s the principle of it. I hope EA figures out what caused this and actually fixes it soon, but that sounds like just wishful thinking at this point.
