This isn't exactly towards playing on console, but it's an issue I suddenly found while playing with the January 31st 2023 update installed on my Xbox. When I clicked on something, trying to get my sim to interact with it, nothing showed up. This happened with all 3 of the sims I'm playing with. I think the new features made my sims rebel, but what do I do?

Update: Just found out this issue only happens when I'm using keyboard and mouse, with controller I can do stuff perfectly fine. But this kinda inconvenciences me because I usually play with keyboard and mouse. I can deal with controller for a bit, I just wish this can get fixed.

Issue: Sims 4 camera/ cursor not working 

This is the first time I’m ever making a complaint on sims 4 I started playing on pc when I first got it but am on console now and have been for a couple years now, I like that I can plug in my keyboard and mouse and play how I’m used to playing. Since the update dropped today I can’t use the sims 4 camera to play or build in the game, I have to switch between sims 3 camera and sims 4 camera to make my game a bit easier for me. Since the sims 4 cameras is my preferred way to play and build on sims it sucks that my cursor isn’t working properly. Will it stay like this?

I play on Xbox. However I use a keyboard and mouse attachment. The update for console on Jan 31st literally broke my game. In build mode I am unable to place objects. Move objects. Recolor objects. Whatever update you did, reverse it. Xbox was working just fine before you tried to fix it. Its sad since I don't use mods or cc. So it's not my console. It's your update. Please fix this asap. 

I am a Xbox user but I use my mouse and keyboard, but after the update I can’t properly use them. I have to click on things multiple times to get the choice wheel. I use the sims 4 camera option when I play but for some reason when I’m in build mode I have to switch to the sims 3 camera option and I takes like three clicks just to place something. Right now it’s just really buggy using the mouse and keyboard for me.

So I have an Xbox one and I have a keyboard and mouse connected to it. In sims 4 when I use my mouse it won't let me click on anything in the games while i'm playing. I don't have this problem in any other game. Please help me fix this because I don't know how. 

it doesnt let me click on the sims or furniture at all, when i use the sims 4 camera i cant do anything i cant place anything in build mode, but i can in sims 3 camera mode why is that? is there a fix i can do? and im on xbox so i dont know if that makes a difference or not.

you can find the bug when you use a keyboard and mouse, if you click on sims 4 camera it doesnt let you click on anything not on the sims and not on the furniture you can click on everything accept in game stuff but when i go to edit a house it doesnt let me put anything down. it happened after the recent update. and just to make sure this was a bug and not something wrong with my console or my game i had my friend try it on his console and it doesnt work for him either.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?: go to sims 4 camera and try to click on the sims or furniture it wont work on mouse. and then edit your house and try to place objects down but you cant place anything.

I can’t not build with (keyboard/mouse) (xbox) while in Sims 4 camera mode, when trying to select an item, the rotation symbol appears, and I am unable to pick up, or place items. When trying to enter the game at the “press any key to start” screen, none of my keys work instead I have to click my mouse to enter. I can’t not right click on items anymore either, this has be current since the 31JAN2023 update. PLEASE fix this I want to be able to play my game. 

I play on Xbox however I play with keyboard and mouse not controller. I’m not having crashing issues but I’m having issues in Live mode where objects and sims are unclickable (e.g. cannot click fridge to make food, cannot click bed to sleep, cannot click toilet to use) and you can’t click the playable sim or other sims (e.g. can’t click yourself to change your outfit our click another sim to interact with them) these are just a few of the issues. Another thing is, in build mode, objects are completely impossible to pick up and place down or even buy, you cannot move literally anything. The only playable part of the game for me right now is CAS otherwise the rest of it is completely unplayable. This update has brought nothing but issues it hasn’t improved anything. Why ‘fix’ something which didn’t need fixing? Please just revert back to the original controls as the game is just not working now, at all.

Currently on Console, I play with Keyboard and Mouse, and It just doesn't register if I'm on Sims 4 camera, I have to switch to Sims 3 camera to interact with basically anything. Something with the newest update broke the game, It's annoying and I just want to play the game how I can. Please address the issue

You guys literally ruined mouse & keyboard compatibility on Xbox One with the newest update. Can’t click on anything in game, just the menus. Did you guys even test this update out?? 

After the last update playing on Xbox one with a mouse and keyboard is almost impossible and incredibly frustrating. I have to click on things about a million times to maybe get the chance to interact with anything. Build mode is also broken and I’m unable to move things when I’m the sims 4 camera and it just shows the sign to rotate the object but it won’t even rotate. I can’t place new items either please please please fix this soon I want to be able to play before the infant update and the new pack come but but especially when they do!

I've never played with a controller in the sims 4, I've always played with keyboard and mouse. I don't like playing with the controller, maybe I'm used to keyboard and mouse from the past because I always played on my PC.

This isn't necessarily about a controller bug, but rather that ever since this update released, my mouse and keyboard has been bugging out majorly. I play on the Xbox series with a mouse and keyboard hooked up to the console. It's worked for years, and I've been really happy with it until the latest update. Now whenever I try to use the mouse or keyboard it completely doesn't work. Is this going to be the new normal or is it just a bug??? 

Ever since the update I am unable to use bb and live mode. I use a mouse and keyboard attached but the console isn't recognizing. Then when I use my controller it's extremely hard to navigate. I can't recolor, move objects or even interact. Everything was FINE before

I found that when you use the Sims 3 camera you can build and interact with Sims. However, when using Sims 4 camera (my fave) as you can do everything on it you cannot do any interactions or click on objects. I prefer Sims 4 camera as you can rotate with the mouse. Where as Sims 3 camera is robotic and you have to click so many buttons to rotate, very frustrating. More frustrating having to go back and forwards to the different cameras to play the game.

Can anyone help me here? There was a recent update for the sims4 for console. I have an XBOX ONE and using Razer turret mouse and keyboard instead of controller. Since the update happened in Build mode I can not rotate the objects anymore. There is something wrong with it. I reinstalled the whole game and also checked the camera settings. Not working at all. Does anyone of you face this issue?
