Re: Sims 4 CC Hair won't change colours

So my Sims 4 custom content hair messed up. My custom content hair still works but whenever I click the different squares to change the color, they select but the hair itself stays the default color. I thought it might have been a problem with some new custom content I recently got so I removed them but the problem still persisted which leads me to believe it's an update problem. I also have restarted CAS, the game itself, and my laptop and the problem still persists. Help!

Update: Whenever I click on each color, the eyebrows change color but not the hair.

After I've done this all of my hair upon opening are marked as "corrupted". I'm not sure what else can be done because I have a lot of hair in my folder.

Update: I've been able to fix this with S4S by allowing for random (CC) and this has seemed to fix most of my swatches for the time being as well.

I don't know if mentioned before but I found a pretty easy temporary solution:

You need the latest Sims 4 Studio, In My CC menu chose your hair which you want to edit, then in the top right corner you can see the colors, drag and drop the color to the first slot what you want. For example you want the hair to be red then grab the red color and drag to the first slot and save the package.

I was so happy when i saw you'r comment.

    BUT

    - They don't really tell you how it works, like how to install and use the program.

When i finally figured out how the program works, i started to try fix my hair files but TSR workshop stopped working all the time when trying to fix the files.

Somehow i finally got it to work and i started up my Sims 4 game.

After some time my Sims 4 closed down and told me i could not play cus i had some corrupted files.

Turns out all my hair files is corrupted now after the "fix".

i advice to have a copy of all your hair files before trying this out.

    - I was stupid enough to forget it. So i have to download every hair all over again.

    - I know it ain't TSRs fault that i forgot to do a backup folder 🙂 #feelsbadman.

Yeah, I haven't tested that TSWR fix or anything. Just trying to post info that I find.

@LonelyFew Probably all connected to this issue. Merged your post.

Hey I am new to the forum. I was able to fix my cc hair issues and other custom content with the sims4studio as someone mentioned. I went and saved my stuff I had in the mods and tray folder just in case. It definitely helped for me for now. Until EA can fix the rest of the bugs if I come across any more.

  • Any idea why hair & lashes cc looks like this? bold & blocky, hair changes color but i have this issue

  • So I went to the sight and downloaded the s4s thing, I went onto the program and opened it up, found the option to use the batch fix and it won't work. It comes up with this message

"Could not find a part of the path 'C:\mods'

Idk what that means, bc the program links to my sims 4 folder just fine. I tried taking the mods folder out and then back in, I tried placing it on my desktop. I didn't remove anything from my sims 4 folder that I think would cause this. I made a copy of my mods folder as a backup, idk if that's the problem. I'm getting really frustrated with this.

    Custom Content Hair Color Swatches:
This can now be changed again. Sims were going through their “natural look” phase and were rejecting CC hair. But all the Dev team Dads commented on how hip it looks so, needless to say, Sims want their CC back. A little reverse psychology works wonders.

This issue should be solved with Patch 1.47.51

Please all update your games and let me know how it goes.

Welp, I don't know if the patch fixed my cc hair coloring issue (which I did have). Only 3 of the 55 custom hairs that I had are actually showing up when I try to change my Sim's appearance. I took the Hair folder out, started up my game and did a new save, exited, stuck the folder back in and went into the new save, but no dice. :-(
