Re: I can’t play the sims 4 because origin keeps crashing
@mhethos What exactly are you doing when Origin crashes? One current issue with Origin is that it crashes when you use the "locate game" function. There are a couple of ways to fix this, one of which is to redownload the game. If that would take too long, you can start the download, pause it, then copy over the existing Sims 4 program files to the folder where Origin's installing the game. When you resume the download, Origin should verify the files without having to download anything new.
Just in case this is the problem, please make sure your hard drive has the same assigned letter as it did when you installed Sims 4. Drive letters are assigned anew each time a drive is plugged in, and they're assigned in the order drives are added, which can scramble the letters. For example, if your computer has internal drives C and D, and you have an external hard drive and a USB stick, the first one you plug in will be drive E and the second drive F; this will change if you unplug them later. But for Sims 4, if the external drive was labeled drive E when you installed the game, it needs to still be drive E when you try to play.
