- @mdbridges Not really. EA couldn't find a solution so I ended up using an EA "adult" account instead. For your sake I really hope you're not using Steams "family mode" because Origin won't accept the connection to Steam without turning "family mode" off which just makes the hassle I was trying to avoid even worse.
The connection between Steam and Origin seems to be a terrible mess if you ask me. Wish I never bought Sims 4 to begin with. - @dabardzen I managed to get a really quick response from EA!

Like you, I just made them a full account and fortunately linked to their own steam account.
