Re: TS4 PC Error 'DisplayName Field Missing From Registry' Since May 28th Patch

Hi.

I have just installed the new sims 4 update and have been hit with the “display name field missing from registry” box.

I’ve never had this issue and I am an avid sims 4 player. It’s simply after the patch update 29th May. 2024. I put my email and password but it comes up with saying I am offline. I am online on EA app as well as internet connection.

I have spent a lot of money and time in my game so please can someone help me get this rectified as I cannot play following the update.

please help!!! I’d appreciate it

YES! VERY frustrating! I was staying at a family members house and updated my game and was able to log on and play, at my house I updated as well and getting hit with this. I reached out to support and they stated there hasn't been a fix yet, but are working on it as several players are experiencing this. Hopefully it's fixed soon and doesn't takes weeks. The sims is my therapy away from "life", and I'm lost and BORED out of my mind without it.

and post the report ID in this thread.

@candiecoatediv  I'm sorry you had to reset your PC, and I don't know why based on what I've seen of this error.  But I guess it was faster than waiting for a fix.

Okay so my game seems to be working now somehow.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sims 4 game, which was pain, took me hours. After I did that I got a pop up from my antivirus program telling me it had contained some file from the Sims 4, and I clicked to unblock that file. That pop up had never shown up before, while I was trying all sort of things to get the game to work. I wonder if my antivirus had blocked the Sims 4 from launching all along, without telling me. If that is the case, that is really annoying.

    Hope this helps someone.
