Re: Legend abilities menu constantly flickers

Hi @porglezomp, 


Have you checked to see if there's any corrupt data in the Apex Legends files on your Switch? You can check this using the steps below: 

1. Open the System Settings from the Home menu

2. Go to Manage Software and select Apex Legends

3. Choose Check for Corrupt Data

4. Choose Redownload if it finds any corrupt data

Let me know if you're still having the same flickering issues after that. Thanks!

    Would it be possible to record a video of what you're seeing? If so, you can upload it somewhere like Youtube and link it here. I'd like to take a look, if possible.

    Here's a clip. No inputs are being pressed while it's flickering, and I set the controller down partway through to try to eliminate gryoscope inputs from the controller as a possibility.

    That does seem like it could be an issue with one of the controller buttons. Are you playing with the Joy-Cons, or are you using a different controller?

    @EA_Kent I'm using a pro controller.
    I haven't had any instances of buttons misfiring during play, and the "Test Input Devices" option on the Switch doesn't show any buttons if none are specifically pressed.

    @porglezomp 

    If you disconnect the Pro Controller and switch to the Joy Cons does the same thing still happen?

    Got it, thanks! If you're playing the game on the dock, can you try playing it handheld to test and see if it keeps doing the same thing?

    Thanks for checking that for me. 

    I'm afraid the only other step I can really suggest would be to fully uninstall and reinstall the game to see if that helps. I know that can be time consuming, but if you can give that a shot I'd really appreciate it.

    @EA_Kent Instead of reinstalling for now, first I'll check with a friend this weekend and see if they can reproduce the problem on their Switch.

    In the meantime, I've realized the flickering looks exactly the same as the transition animation when you switch which legend you're hovering over, and it stops instantly as soon as you stop being able to hover over the legends at the end of selection. It also flickers a lot less during arenas games (but still a little bit).
