Re: Literally can’t hear any sound

Hey @ShesNuts

Have you checked to make sure the audio channels are set up correctly for your PS4? It sounds like it might be trying to output the audio in surround sound, and those channels might not actually be coming through.

  •  @EA_Kent All the channels are properly set up, the sound itself usually cuts out other sounds when the game picks up different sounds, hence if I’m shooting at the enemy, and they’re shooting, and say one of the enemies decides to flank behind, I don’t hear the footsteps, because the game is prioritizing the gunshots, even when I stop shooting to heal/shield up, someone just runs at me from behind with no sound, similar to the Octane pad sound glitch. I get that it tries to prioritize the current sounds, but sometimes, it doesn’t wanna prioritize the critical sounds, hence, enemies running at you from behind, doors opening/closing, etc., I love this game so much, and see it’s potential, but the sound cues aren’t really that great in some games, idk if it’s because of that specific lobby, or server. I know you guys are doing the best you can to fix what needs to be fixed, hopefully it’ll be fixed soon 🙂

    @ShesNuts

    Thank you for following up!

    Are you running your sound through a headset, or is it going through the TV audio?

    Got it, thanks! Do you have it running through the inline controls attachment for the headphones, or is it just going straight through?

  • @EA_Kent it’s running through the inline controls. They’re a brand new headset, and a streaming microphone

    Does your version have the 7.1 channel button on the inline controls? If so, can you try disabling that if it's currently active? I am curious if that would make a difference.

  • I have no sound what so ever. Im on PC and have my ps4 controller plugged into it and my headset is plugged into my controller, ive even tried using an xbox controller and still nothing. I dont have any issue with any other game at all, just Apex. It was working for a bit but suddenyl stopped and its been like that for about a week so i cant even play the game. I even tried plugging my headset directly into my pc and that didnt help either. Please help because i really want to play and its making it really frustrating.

    Hey @treeves03

    I ran into a similar issue recently on my own PC. My audio would just stop working when I would launch a game, and I would have no sound until I restarted the PC. I had to uninstall and reinstall my audio drivers in order to stop it from happening.

    If you haven't already, can you give that a shot to see if it helps? You can find more info on how to reinstall them at the Microsoft Support website. If you expand the Fix your audio drivers section on that page it will have more details.

    Let me know if you're still having any audio issues after that. Thanks!

  • Yes I tried that and I restarted my pc 3 times. It's only apex that gives me this issue, no other games do. Apex is the only game i've been wanting to play and its hard to do when you cant hear anything. I have tried everything.

  • @EA_Kent idk if it's because i switched to a monitor from a little tv but before i got this new monitor i could hear and now nothing but my friend has the exact same monitor and he doesnt have the issue at all.

    @treeves03

    Gotcha! Have you had the chance to try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to see if that makes any difference? If there is anything else running that could be causing issues with the audio output that might help narrow it down.

    You can find more information on how to set up a Clean Boot at the EA Help website. Once you've had the chance to give it a try please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

  • It's nothing to do with my ps4 I've went over everything and it only happens at near the end of my game
