Re: Battlefield 1942 on Windows 10 64-Bit System - Won't launch

I have been dealing with this issue for a few days now. I am on Win 8.1, cd rom version of bf1942. I have installed all the patches per instructions in your patch kit, activated direct play, made game to run off xp service pack 3, and also run as administrator, and the game will not load, asks if I would like to allow it to make changes, I say yes and it just goes back to the desktop. I uninstalled and tried everything again and no luck. Any further advice?

I still seem to be having same problems. On Win 10 64 Bit. I am using the BF1942 Deluxe Edition CD Rom, BF 1942 and Road to Rome

yeah mate have tried that and installed as per the readme but when i double click to launch i get the cursor spinning for a second then nothing happens just stays on desktop

are sure you installed  this patch battlefield_1942_gamespy_patch_v1.61.exe    in the pack if not sure  rerun the patch  and make sure the install path  is good

well there is your problem win 10 no longer has safedisc drm and so you will need that patch to give you a new bf1942.exe that no longer looks for the cd rom

Your patches worked but why do I have to install the patch every time after every game?
