Re: Can't launch Battlefield 4 64 bit, but can run 32 bit

Have you guys tried all of this? .....

Run the game as Administrator:
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.

Run Origin as Administrator:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and check the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make Sure BF4 is set to 64bit and your O/S must be 64bit for this to work.
1- open origin and go to My Games
2-Right click BF4 and go to Game Properties
3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply and test you BF4

    Thanks man... this worked...

  • Have done all of these things and still nothing. Back in the day when Mantle was just out, I had a blast playing the game. But now, I can only play it in 32 bit, meaning I also can't use Mantle. What happens with me is that every time I try to load a server, the loading screen gets stuck.

None of this works for me since downloading the new Night game patch I have been to every forum and there is no solution...The real question is How can EA/Dice release a game this old and still not have it rolling out smoothly - the fact that I can load in and play at 32 bit and not 64 says one thng - they omitted some code required to run the game on Win 7 under 64 bit...

What does it say about them simple they don't want to support Win7!

FFS its not hard to provide the right code for a game this old?

unbelievable - and their own help people on any site have no better answers than the ones here - which do not solve the problem...

DICE start writing better code EA start making them produce better coed - and do it like from 2 years ago FAIL!!!

Oh yeah I have tried everything...in every forum every which way...

    Thank man, this really helped!

  • Had the same issue...after playing for several yrs the x64 versions stopped working but does launch in x86 [32 bit] what I found is if I create another user profile and launch the game it will work.....then if I, lets say, stop and come back after a few weeks it won't play or rather it won't launch in x64 anymore. Create another user profile [think user account] and it'll go back to working again for a short spell.....all the other deals like Repair Game and such don't seem to do a thing....running everything as Admin an setting the Compatibility modes as well but it seems to have a mind of its own...PunkBuster updated each time using EvenBalance etc etc.

Haven't done the uninstall C++ Visual deals as a lot are related to other games..an am afraid uninstalling all the 2013's and 2015's[2003 & 2005's too] that it might corrupt newer games.....this has only started happening with W10 Pro .....W7 Pro had no issues but have a feeling the User Profile has something to do with it.

    didnt help me ☹️

  • OK People been dealing with this for awhile now, through trial & error figured it out.

Cannot tell you if it will work for you but worked for me.

When I checked my "D:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\BFLauncher.exe" my bf4.exe was locked, could not change the Administrator privileges.

So I deleted, then went to game properties in Origin to do a repair, it wanted me to do a fresh install of the title in another drive, had changed it previously because my D:/ was getting full.

This was the key to the puzzle, so I shut the install down, changed it back to D:/, ran the repair install, replaced the locked bf4.exe. Low & behold I can play Battlefield 4 in 64 bit mode again!

Good luck & hey EA/Dice if you a listening enable Origin to install to any drive as per install not one main directory! *Face Palm*👍
