About Class system for next game

Dear DICE

I understand that you see making weapons accessible to all classes as a more suitable approach to help more players adapt to the game. However, weapon options being fixed to specific classes is one of the core foundations that shape the identity of the game.

The biggest factor that defines the roles and tactics of classes is the limitation of weapons.

From a technical standpoint, this is a mistake, and from a marketing perspective, it is also a misguided strategy.

In terms of marketing, the priority should be to protect the core Battlefield community. The core fanbase will always be present in the game. As long as you keep the fan players engaged, the new players will naturally follow once they see an active and lively community. However, if you only focus on new players, it may seem like a good idea at first, but eventually, you’ll see both the core fanbase and the new players decline.

This decision is extremely important for the fate of Battlefield. Please reconsider before the release and don’t discourage people by taking away what they love. Restrict weapons so that each class uses a unique set of weapons.

  • Foverin I fully agree on this! Having a character like Mackay being able to grapple hook onto areas others can’t reach and simultaneously equip a sniper rifle is completely against the classic rock, paper, scissors philosophy that helped shaping Battlefields identity

  • Got to agree with this, the game will be impossible to balance as is.

  • Hi! Foverin

I agree. What you exactly mean by unique set of weapons? Battlefield 4/3 (semi-open pools), Battlefield 1/V (highly restricted) or Battlefield Hardline/BC2 (mix of selected different types and class weapon) approach?

  • I want the class system back.

My only issue is, I like medics to have ARs not LMGs. But that just a me thing.
