@EA_Leeuw, yeah the same "could not activate" error. I've just tried to again re-install the EA app, again deleted dlf file, but again I can't run the game. Here is the new screencast:

@stalkersev, could you perhaps share the video via Streamable or YouTube and link it here? This makes it very hard to watch. Alternatively, please share some screenshots.
ok i looked for the file to delete i could not find it its not in their
so i just deleted the whole folder and that fixed it now its working
bf3: is now working FIX: Delete the whole folder C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License.
[Solution!]
Issue Resolved. Accepting as solution for visibility purposes.Battlefield 3 via EA app and the License Key Error
If you're playing Battlefield 3 via the EA app and you're also running into the License Key Error, please follow these steps:
Open Windows File Explorer and copy/paste this 'url' into the address bar: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License.
If you can't copy/paste this 'url', you can enable the "View hidden files and folders in Windows" option via these steps and navigate to the folder manually.
In the "License" folder, where you should be if you've followed the above-shared steps, check if you can see a file called "71067.dlf".If it's there, delete this file and launch the game again. The game should now work.
Hi,
I had the same issue (have premium, i see premium everywhere except on the EA app that says i have the limited edition) and deleting that folder did in fact allowed me to play, i tried back to karkand (error saying i needed to have the dlc and asking for origin app ?!? retried and i was able to join an empty server. Tried close quarters also was able to join an empty server. All good BUT i want EA app to say the truth/realilty that i have premium and not the limited edition, because i dont feel safe this way. The support guys with the usual script that they are amazed to be able to help me, end up not helping at all, worsening the problem because you feel like you are talking with someone that understands 0 of this problem.

Hi @Voopoo,
This sounds like a different 'issue' in the end. I would recommend creating a new thread about this, as a visual issue is unrelated to where this thread is about.
Thanks. Hello and thank you. my apologies, the fix did solve the issue partially and i replied on it thinking it was a thread about mismatched game versions.
I just found this answer after months of not being able to play BF3 and it works...kind of. I'm still getting error messages from EA app even though it allows me to join a game after multiple attempts.
OMG EA you should hire Steam to write your app or just go on the Steam platform and call it a day.
Hello, could you help me with this error in the game, I bought the game on a black Friday sale. I can't fix this error.
help with the problem I wrote above. Thank you in advance.
Hi @EA_Leeuw how are you? I still having this problem. I reinstalled BF3 and launched it but it keeps the issue. Tried deleting the DLF file and launched again and failed the issue still. Tried many times deleting the file and with Steam and EA Games but failed. I need a solution, thanks.
- @TidySnake Man, I know it's wrong to do that. But buy the game again. Go to the EA website in your browser and buy the game again. That's how I solved my problem. Take advantage of a good promotion and buy it again.
The EA APP showed that I had the game. But it asked for the key. But through the EA website in my browser I was able to buy the game again for my account and everything was resolved. Hi, go to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License and delete the latest *.dlf file here. For me it was e.g. 70619.dlf and then restart the game. It should help
- @Vikos84 finally, it helped, mine was completely different, DELETE EVERYTHING

Hi dont find the C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License can you explain pls regards.
I have the same problem with FIFA 12 but in the path C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\ I don't have any folder called EA Services...
Por si a alguien le sirve, en FIFA 12:
1 - Cerrar EA App
2 - Ir a C:\ProgramData y eliminar todas las carpetas donde ponga "EA" o "Electronic Arts"
3 - Abrir EA App
Eso me funciono a mi con FIFA 12

.İts very insteresting but ı just bought battlefield 3 again on steam and the result same ☹️ . I am about to go crayz
I just bought it on EA store as an offer with discount. The premium version.
Still same error.
same game same pc I’ve been playing it for years.
I keep saying that the problem is on ea servers. Still ea. team gives instructions on fixing the game on local level.
it’s outrageous. The incompetence of ea team is monumental.
- @kolofotias86 Please do something. I've been trying solutions on my computer like crazy for 3 days. I contacted EA and they said that the servers were closed and directed me to this site. I installed Origin, I installed VU, I bought the game again via Steam, but the problem still persists. I bought a product I had again, but I cannot play it. I'm still getting the Battlefield 3 could not activate error. And the interesting thing is that people are still playing, the servers are full, how can these people play without this problem? If there is another way to play, can you let me know?
Now ı dont have could not activated error anymore ( Because ı ınstall origin ) but now its stuck the logining server . İs there any solution for this ?
