When you use the server browser while in the game, then only the servers that are currently active will show up.  That includes also on your server favorites list.  So if the server is empty for players, then it will not show up on your favorites list anymore, until one of the admins brings back this server in live game mode.  As long as you have one player still on the server, then it will remain visible for others to join still.

Regarding the difference to your web browser search list, then its because your browser uses a cache memory to show certain pages.  So it is typically showing from past results also/delayed in its showing.  If you "reload/refresh" the page, then it should pull the current correct data.  But if you play on console, then the data is not always completely up to date.  Aka what servers are available and how many players are active on them.  It is simply just not really 'real time'.  And not much we can do about that, as its caused by the EA infrastructure setup.
