[PC] BF1 rubber banding while on foot or on horse

Hi all, Season pass holder here with an issue that I was directed here from @EAHelp on twitter.

Issue: in multiplayer games since the may 2017 update, I experience severe rubber-banding on foot and on horses. it resembles lag when playing with upwards of 800+ ping. I cant walk 5 feet with out it bouncing back once or twice. This happens when my ping is in the low 20s in servers close to me. When I am a passenger in vehicles though, I can play just fine, including sitting gunner in attack planes and do decent damage. I mainly play operations and conquest and this happens in both modes. I haven't tried any other as most others don't have vehicles and its already frustrating enough.

rig: Intel i7-4820K | Crucial MX100 256GB | MSI GTX 1070 Quick Silver 8GB OC | 16GB Corsair Vengeance LP 1600 | ToughPower 1200w | Windows 10 Pro x64 | G15v2 | G500

nvidia driver version: 382.33 (latest)

net: 50 down/15 up cable internet on a wired connection to a asus b/g/n router.

Prior to this I have had zero issues with 320+ hours of play time. I've cold booted modem/router/pc (in that order); i've resinstalled the game (only game installed on SSD while other games is on HDD); i have uPnP turned off; uPnP service off; I've clean-installed graphic drivers.  the symptoms are simply inconsistent with problems which several of the common fixes out there resolve. I haven't touched ports because I've never had an issue with any and all other games/programs I use so I don't want to "try" a fix that might break something else.

Keep in mind, while I am a passenger in vehicles, my gameplay is normal. I have no recorded any gameplay footage yet because I've never done that before but I will if I need to.

Please help!

  • Hey @badcookiies,

is Directx 12 selected in the Settings? If so, change it to 11. If not then try over Origin to repair the game.

-Select My Game Library in Origin.

    -Right-click on the game tile.

    -Select Repair Game.

Have you selected a server manually in the server browser where a good ping was displayed? Test all game modes and look how the ping is

    /safer

  • It has always been set to 11. benefits of 12 do not outweigh the performance drop for me. Settings haven't been touched and remain as you see in screen shot.

I have repaired more than once already but for your sake, I've done it again before going in to screen shot the servers and then scoreboard once I got in to show ping.

The only quick match I use is operations which I have no choice. (thats a different can of worms).

this forum wont let me upload all three at once so they are at PI

    Hello @badcookiies

I am really sorry for those connection issues with Battlefield 1. I guess, you have already tried all the connection-wise solutions, described in this article here? If so, and bone of those made any difference, can you try to load your system, using Clean Boot and check the game again? Keep us posted.

    Cheers,

    Archi

  • I have tried most everything on the connections page. However like I said, I can [connect/launch] play just fine so I did not want to mess that up. I tried the "clean boot" and in win10 it shut off so many services it even stopped the loading of my g500 mouse. So I scratched that option. After restarting normally, I launched BF1 again and it still does the same thing. I got frustrated and uninstalled Origin. A day later, I caved and reinstalled Origin and reconnected BF1 to origin. I launched and hopped into a operations game in soissions and everything was back to normal. After all the failed attempts, the only thing I did was uninstall and reinstall Origin and it seems to have reset things back to normal. Late last night I was able to play about 3 hours of conquest on rotations without any issues.

As of now, this issue is apparently fixed for me. It does not however make any sense to me. I do not really want to mark this as solution because I highly doubt it will help whoever runs into this issue so I will leave it as is for now.  I want to thank those of you who tried to help for your time.
