Re: Dlc weapons and unlocking!

@loka8890  Just some food for thought:

1. The shortcut kits actually unlock only the guns from the base game. No DLC or lootcrate weapons are included in those kits. So they just eliminate the grind for normal (base game) weapons and have nothing to do with the DLC weapons.

2. The Premium Pass adds more than weapons. It adds maps and elite classes, too.

3. The Premium Pass owners have to work to unlock the DLC weapons. There are certain requirements to unlock them, so there is a fair amount of work involved. Yes, some are easier to unlock, while other are harder

4. There are quite a few weapons in the base game that are still better than anything that the DLC can offer (BAR Trench comes into mind, but there are plenty others).

5. The Premium Pass, right now is under 100 RON (yup, tough, i am from the country that is using RON). In the Winter sales, is even cheaper (15euro/15USD/75RON in the Origin store, right now). The offer is available until 12th of this month.

6. Your DLC weapons will not be instantly unlocked, if you decide to buy the Premium Pass. The maps will, though, along with the new elite classes. One particular weapon will still be unavailable, unless you own the Collector's Edtition. It might be added to the puzzle pieces from the lootcrates later, though (the M1911 Doughboy pistol)

7. The skins are earned from lootcrates, just like are for the standard owners.

So - shortcut kits only unlock the weapons from the base game (and reaching the rank 10 for each class and the requirement for all the base game weapons is rather easy). Premium Pass offers new maps, elite classes and weapons. And while the first two are available from the start, the weapons will be unlocked only if you meet certain requirements (like kill 5 enemies with a tripwire bomb and kill an enemy x times with a certain weapon/do x kills in a round - there are others, too many to mention, but there are always at least one or two requirements to be met when you unlock the DLC weapons)

@loka8890  some DLC weapons will give you a hard time to unlock and require some grinding with some less used weapons (usually, with weapons from the base game). Some will require the use of certain gadgets that are not used often.

As stated before, the Premium Pass owners have to work for the DLC weapons and quite a few times they will go back to the weapons from the base game,as the unlocked weapons are not as good as their base game counterparts.

Thus being said, you will love some of the new maps, hate others, but the new elite kits are quite fun to play with (you know, the ones that are on the map). Of course, the new elite kits are available only on the respective DLC maps and are not found in the base game.

I have the BF1 Ultimate Edition and i still have to unlock everything (lack of time and such, but i am getting there). More often than not i get back to the original weapons. They are more "noob" friendly (something that i recon i am) and sometimes alot more accurate and with a better rate of fire. One thing i can guarantee: you will have more fun on the new maps, no matter which weapons you will use. But you will get back to the base game now and then.

Lately, we have the so-called "mixed maps servers", which allow maps from the base game to be combined with the DLC map, which makes the map rotation even better, as you get access to all the maps from the base game and the DLC (on the dedicated servers the map rotation have only the base game maps in rotation or the DLC X maps in rotation and so on). Now, on the mixed maps servers we get access to all the maps.

SO, a lot of reasons to get the Premium Pass. And at the current price, you get a good chunk of content.

Wish you happy hunting and see you in the Battlefield!
